The only thing I've notivces about the more regular stations is that the lighting colour changes, and that in some, like those near volcanic planets, there is different machinery in some of the oblong sections.

I really think that now having specific styles and schemes of stations for the different factions was a missed oppotunity. I barely pay attention to the stations now as there is nothing to really differentiate them in terms of who's space you're in.

I thought the different coloured lighting was just a random thing to make stations feel a bit more different from each other than they actually are. Never noticed a correlation between the colour and wealth of the station. Will check it out next time.

As for the garden stations or palm tree stations, whatever you want to call them, there's loads of them in Empire space. The only other place I'd seen them previously was in Sol and maybe the odd rare one here and there. But in empire space in and around Achenar for a good 30 odd ly I'm finding them in systems all over.

Not the lighting, the station itself - the metal hull, or superstructure. I've also seen different lighting for the pad numbers - the more common yellow, and there is also the red.

I love how people say all the interiors are the same, when we have had the fancy one as an alternative for 11 months!
Not counting all the little cosmetic changes for the non fancy stations
