i have gone to extreme lengths to see a thargoid.....

and no luck. ive spent literally the last 3 days pleiades sector OI-T c3-7 A, collecting meta alloys from the barnacles, then driving far enought ot be "out of the settlement" and transfering cargo to ship, and going back to barnacle.

after this insane amount of time, it should have happened by now. a few times i got disconnected, and since i use my phone as a wifi hotspot as my only means of internet access, im starting to wonder if a technical reason is to blame. ive played this game very day since january of this year, and i spent the majority of my time in the merope area. not a single hyperdiction, not a single encounter at a barnacle, and not a single one at the many thargoid bases ive visited! im starting to wonder if these encounters only happen to people who preordered the game or supported the kickstarter campaign or something.....

if im doing something wrong, i sure would like to know :(

I think it truly is luck my friend

I've been hanging around the Pleiades jumping in and out, gone to visit various barnacle sites and been to some of the thargoidnbaes, and like yourself, haven't seen

Like I said, I really think it's down to luck

I got hyperdicted the day after the first commander reported it. Nothing since. At the barnacles or hyperdicted or at alien wrecks.

Thargoids were always rare. When I played the original in the mid eighties for many months I got interdicted by the aliens only twice. Seeing them pop up all over would feel wrong to me.

I want Thargoids to be rare, and terrifying.

No unplanned encounters so far. Been out to two crash sites and have been jumping in and out of the Pleiades systems for some time now; but no 'visits' so far.

I think it is a random thing, but I also believe that there must be some for of trigger, or triggers, to get their attention; as it were.

it just happened....literally just happened.....now im starting to wonder if fdev can trigger these intentionally...becuase comon now.....lmao.

was pretty amazing looking up and seeing that thing floating over me!

I was engineering my thrusters at Palin so I transferred all my ships to Merope (Alcazar's Hope). I finished my iCourier and FDL, and picked up my Anaconda, hit jump back to Maia after leaving the planetary base (was able to jump straight from orbit) and got interdicted in hyperspace, let me tell you, if my ship lights or power had stayed on the warning message would've said Code Brown. I recorded it. So you may have better luck simply jumping back and forth in that area.

I'd give more details but I don't want to ruin it, seriously. It was so good.

Interesting: It is my belief that the Goddess on minions has had a hand to play with these new creatures and on has to wonder, can she, or others in her position, push a button and make it happen.

The same method has worked when searching for engineering materials in USS, or unknown probe hunting. Lol

I haven't spent any great deal of time out in Alien Land, so I haven't seen any of these myself, and I generally feel it a good thing.
Humans are trouble enough.

If you want a video I can share one, its insane, but I highly suggest you stay virgin for the in-person experience

I have not spent time looking for thargoids because of the rng involved and others who've said it's very unpredictable. OP should have done the same

Plus, seeing a Thargoid when you're looking for one is one thing, getting hyperdicted while you're going about your regular business is an entirely different experience
