I have now extensively used The Cutter, Federal Corvette, and the Anaconda and here is what I have learned.

Other than hauling, the big ships are pretty much redundant in the game now.
Except the Anaconda with its magical light hull made of unicorn farts and pixie wishes, which gives it better range than even the "explorer" ships.
Its such a pity that the medium ships are now more useful than the big "end game" ships. Is that irony?
What medium ships are more useful in your opinion? Why?

I am the opposite. I have never found a small or medium ship that i liked more than a large one. The closest I have ever come was the Mamba but it just had too many shortcomings for me to properly enjoy it.

I have promised myself though that one day I would fully outfit a Mamba. It was the first and only medium ship I have flown that made me smile from the start when I flew it, but the heat problems were too much at the time.
We all have our own preferences. If thes large ships offered something unique like needing NPCs to run, then I might consider them as they offer something else.

Nice over view of the big three, although should be the big 4 now we have the T10 which cost around the same as the Anaconda. But having flown all 4 I will agree that the Anaconda is the best for versatility.

Looks - The Vette Crocette is not a "sexy" ship. It is a scary looking one though.

Strike through mine.

;) I would sign that statement anytime!

Yeah I just don't count the T-10 among the Big 3 because each of the Big 3 is exceptional in at least 2 areas. The Vette has its maneuverability and its combat ability, the Cutter has its shields and its cargo capacity, and the Conda has its jump range and its versatility. The T-10's only exceptional quality is its armor and thats about it.

For combat I prefer either the Mamba or Challenger. I even engineered a crusader with a SLF and it actually surprised me at how good it really is.
Personally I prefer medium ships for exploration. Have a fleet of them including another Mamba that I took and completed DW2 with. Though recently I made a little DBS into one.
Though technically its a "large ship" I still see the clipper as a medium ship and use it for void opals when I feel like mining. Though that is rare these days. Been thinking of making a second Python into a mining ship.
I used a Type-6 to do the Guardian mission that Ram-Tah gave out and the Thargoid one Palin gave.
Don't do passenger missions anymore with the Exception of a Beluga i have parked far away for special, occasions
I just use medium ships for material gathering and surface missions like the scanning and base attack missions. My Challenger does those ones.. Have that super cold DBS for megaship hacking. I just can't think of a use these days for any of my "Big Three". My T-10's are also gathering dust.

To each their own I guess, but I personally would prefer one of the Big 3 for each of those tasks.

sigh eye of the beerholder, remember? Opinions dont qualify as facts. If they did pick up trucks wouldn't be able to win any awards because i dont like them. I veiw them as someone needs to over compensate for something unless its a work related use. As it stands my opinion of pick up trucks means diddily squat to anyone who has a different opinion. But if you feel that way its fine. Im personally not a fan either.

Nope. Objectively awful to anyone's eyes. Like a snake (an anaconda, say) ate an 18 wheeler but can't digest it so carries it around henceforth, like a Kangaroo.

I subjectively think, that the Conda is quite a handsome spaceship (except the bridge that looks like a 70s Chevy), whereas the Cutter looks like it's made of cheap plastic. Apart from that, I agree with most post here. The Cutter is an ugly trader, the Conda is a big heavy allrounder and the Corvette is an OP material harvester for PvE. The small and medium ships are not as efficient as the biggies, but they are much more fun, and let's face it, most of us are here for the fun.
