I have Returned

Hello Commanders!

I played for a couple of years and stopped soon after the SRV's went live. Some real life things took over, PC died so never reinstalled, and just too busy to put much time in the game. Still read the ED newsletter and said to myself, I will be back, and here I am. Saw the new update and it looks great. Going to have to learn to play all over so I am in training and still completing settings for Hotas.

I was mostly an explorer and not much for the pew pew action. Made the trip to Sag A, think I was in the first 1000 visitors. Older, slower, and arthritic, that's me. Nothing but fodder for the pvp crowd. Weren't there some private groups who played pve only? I played solo but would be nice to meet up with some like minded people in the void. Group suggestions welcome.

Any tips and pointers to a returning player would also be appreciated.

Welcome back Cmdr. The group your looking for is Mobius (several of them now). Go to ElitePVE.com (I think) to get all the joining details.

Yeah, welcome back. Exploration changes quite a bit next week when the ADS is replaced with the FSS, so there will be plenty of new keybinds to sort out.

If you want a decent jump range, you might want to put some time into unlocking the engineers and the Guardian FSD booster.

Also, you always enter a system from the right direction now, so you'll always be pretty much facing the right direction after navigating around the star.

Also also, you can now plot a course of up to 20,000 light years, and there is a second inhabited bubble growing about that far away.

Have been reading about that. Not doing too much yet for hotas bindings, just getting the hang of flying again at this point.

Edit: and getting used to using this forum, was supposed to be a reply to Andovar.

Find your local Killer Whales. If we were any more relaxed we'd be comatose.

Don't forget when setting up joystick bindings that you can set buttons as a 'SHIFT' function, giving other buttons two (or more) uses.

Also take a look at EdTracker. It's cheap, you look like a buffoon wearing it, but it's a brilliant accessory and makes the whole game feel so much more 'real' in my opinion.

Have fun - you chose a good time to get back in.

In have looked at the tracker back in the day and may go with that. Also thinking about Voice Attack. I recll using my old set up and the shift but just easing in slowly.

You haz it backwards Bill!
You get to ask for their stuph when they rage-quit...
When they arrive, or come back you haz to offer them stuph... or advice.

Wuh?

Well you know, said stuph will be all old and dusty, probably won't work. He can't really want all of it if he's starting anew; I can haz some and add it to my hoard, no?
