I seem to have spare time on my hands, 5 times in fact in the last 3 hours.

I have decided to apply to be a Moderator on the Forum.

I have searched but can not find a job description. However I believe I have all the essential criteria.

Also over the last few weeks I have been informed of all the rules, so I am well prepared.

Any advice on my new career?

You know moderators are not paid?

Plus, they've been around a lot longer than Elite Dangerous has... you'd need to have a lot more activity and time on the Frontier forums

Good Luck in your en-devours.

Your diplomacy skills need a little working on. I would watch out for funny little men in 1950's suits and sunglasses following you around...;)

"Any advice on my new career?"

Avoid assassination by North Korean agents seems like a start?

I applied once, Michael laughed. Though to be honest I wouldn't like it, I'd feel I couldn't go on a proper strop when I feel the need to.

Some of you seem a tad negative. I have prepared myself by learning ' Roger's Profanisaurus' to assist me in my interview

You can moderate all the players some of the time, and some of the players all the time, but you cannot moderate all the players all the time...Sounds about right...A dozen moderators...200,000 players and increasing...

Perhaps it is? Who knows?
Maybe you have to submit your CV in Klingon and quote from the holy Book of Braben.

Being serious for a minute, don't bother applying. If your face fits you'll be approached. I've moderated some decent sized forums in the past and it's a lot less fun than you'd imagine!

Fat Rash n. medic. An area of inner thigh soreness on a salad dodger, caused by the severe chafing which occurs when running to the pie shop as closing time approaches.

+1 I'd love to see an absolute nutjob of a mod on here, just for one day.
I'd apply, but I'd have to ban myself within 3 mins of seeing the daily crap on here.

Moderation powers are not something you apply for, like a superhero of myth and legend you are chosen by a higher power to serve the needs of the forumites.

take a look at the history of the moderators themselves and you will see a common element that they all share: community participation and lots of it.
