I keep being attacked by pirates even have got no cargo?

Drop the missions you have on the left panel...
just because you have not picked the cargo up yet does not mean the station staff have not sold you out to other pilots....
Were the mission has a RED line of text it means other people can sell your cargo mission data on to third parties these third parties than choose to attack you...

I gotta say, I don't think I've ever had pirates try and steal mission cargo before I picked it up.
I always assumed the game simply doesn't initiate that pirate attacks until you have collected the cargo.

OTOH, I suppose that if you were doing a "deliver x tonnes of y" mission and you'd picked some cargo up and then had your ship destroyed, the game would have initiated pirate attacks and you might get them even though (after your ship was destroyed) you currently have no cargo aboard.

Alternatively, I know the OP said they have no cargo aboard but, if you've ben in combat and collected debris, it's easy to "accidentally" pick up a cannister of something that'll attract pirates even though you haven't actually got any mission-cargo aboard.

Loads of them do..
Its used in the bounty CGs to get T10s and anacondas when flying in CGs where the local mining sites are gone as there are no haz res sites...
stack a smeg load of "ships may be sent after you missions" and you sit there in super cruse and they come too you with empty cargo rack...

Sometimes they give you the tasty cargo line for literally any mission with the "incoming enemy" wrinkle.

Yeah but you only get the "incoming enemies" message after you collect the cargo.

The only time you'll get the "incoming enemies" message immediately, without having cargo, is if you've taken on a data-delivery mission.
I did wonder if that's what the OP might've done but, honestly, I'm not sure if attackers during data-delivery missions make any mention of cargo.
AFAIK, they just try to explode you, presumably to prevent you from delivering the data.

So, at a CG you'd take on a cargo delivery mission while flying, say, your Corvette and then you'd just fly around and pirates will interdict you even though you've got no cargo?
That's fair enough, I guess.

Gotta say, I've never tried that 'cos, if I want to attract criminals while BHing, I'll always buy a couple of tonnes of gold and then fly around waiting to be attacked.

Nope. Not got a clue what your taking about. Take what of the what list?
Key #4, the screen that pops up on the right. He's suggesting that if you take it off the "Inventory" tab that shows what you have in the cargo hold and other materials and such and put it on some other tab like your rankings or overview tab then that will stop the interdictions.

It won't, of course. But that's what he's suggesting.

Yep that's what I meant. Thanks.

But how do you know for sure it won't work? It's worked for me over many years. And I've tested it. I wouldn't make something as dumb as this up lol

Reboot and repair is not on that tab and ive still got pulled out of super cruse by the multi ships -per mission after doing reboot to get shields back to 50%..
what works is after you kill enough the mission qouter is full and they will stop with the attacks as its normaly 4 per mission...
