I know I know... But still.

Would you agree it was a rather exception CG in its effort to payout ratio? I don't normally bother with bounty hunting (let's call it by it's true name of endless RES farming), yet alone CG based ones, but wasn't this one a rather successful one compared to normally?

If so, couldn't you just take that as a lucky outcome given normally far lower pay outs?

Agreed - this one is the first BH goal for quite a while that reached anywhere close to the final tier and the payouts were pretty high relative to others so I think this is likely the exception rather than the rule for recent goals. And whilst the minimum pay out was 1M Cr, the curve to the top payout of 65M was reasonable. Many of the goals of all types havea minimum pay out of 1M Cr if the final tier is reached as that is a big achievement for all involved.
.
Also, don't forget you have many hours combat experience - a newbie in a Start-winder may well not have been able to make those three kills and survived back to the station to cash in without getting blown up, or if they did would not have considered it as easy as you would have found it. So maybe the reward to effort was a bit high in your case, but that doesn't mean a new player could have achieved the same thing.

As far as I'm aware, no other Community Goal has reached Tier 8 before (someone correct me by all means). So this was an exceptional circumstance.

Happy to help: There have been others, even BH ones, that reached the final tier ahead of time and had similarly large pay outs, but it has been a good long time since it happened with a BH one. (I think there may even be some of those still in the completed goals section of the CG thread ...)

3,471 commanders slaved for days to build the bounty pot up to 20,036,003,568CR (20 billion+). I personally put in 17.5M CR into the effort, so that commanders with less expensive ships or high combat rank could join in and get a generous reward.

At it's end, the Community Goal was climbing at over 1M CR per second! That's community teamwork.

You think it was too easy? Well you were riding on the coat-tails of giants my friend, so raise a beer and a big thank you to them. You owe them your 1M CR windfall, because without that effort, you wouldn't have seen a bean.

So, you're saying a community goal helped the community as a whole for those who participated. This is revolutionary. :)

I have been playing this game on and off since day 1 and still cannot afford an Anaconda, much less equip it.

Maybe it's because I had a life outside game and had to divide my free time between meeting friends, nurturing my intimate relationships OR playing solo games alone at home.

I dunno... Never understood the appeal of grinding, so I never grin-ded... ground... whatever :D

I have flown every ship in the game except for the corvette at this point, yet I still use my DBS a lot. It's one of my favorite ships. If someone wants to get into a Conda, and they love the ship, then why try holding them back from getting into that ship? It's not like you beat the game because you can afford a Conda. It just means you can now go about doing the things you want to do instead of grinding the money trying to get it.

Not sure if its been mentioned because i cant be bothered to read three pages. But although starting out afresh, you have a massive amount of skill and experience in order to get those first kills and 1m cr bonus. I would suspect that as a complete newbie you would not have been so successful?

I would like to start fresh and focus 100% on PvE piracy, which is much more challenging than pewpewing at the nearby RES and where upgrading your ship / modules really means a progression.

Just waiting for FD to offer a second commander slot or put Elite 1.x on sales for 10 bucks.

One of the great aspects of the game is you get to play the way you want. Some want fast cash, some want slow progression, some just want to have fun (is that Cyndi Lauper I hear in the background....? ). I don't see a problem with a newbie getting a windfall, maybe those of us who have been playing a while had to grind it out a bit more but meh, we've just gotten more gaming in! And really, what does it matter of "insert new player name here" got a Vulture in 1/4 of the time I did, I've been enjoying the game (mostly) for a year and I don't know 99.999999999999999% of the other players anyway. If they like the game, they'll still be around in a year and maybe making the same comments [yesnod]

I just made 15 million in the same CG. I did at least two hours a night for the duration and earned every penny in my mind.

Three deaths, two Wings formed, untold amounts of repaired damage and running for my life on many occasions = A lot of fun.

I think you are misunderstanding what the OP is trying to say.

And I agree with Grax. It is far too easy to get money early in the game these days.

If you know what you are doing, yes it is. But you surely cant compare yourself as a seasoned CMDR to yourself when you set out in a Sidey for the first time...
