I love the new rtjp dlc but!

There have been alot people saying"when the 93 dlc comes out, i'll never use the world buidlings, items again".

I was thinking the same but after i played the campaign and seen all the buildings etc.I must say it is not enough to abandon the world stuff. There are no viewing galleries of any kind and only hand full of buildings. So what you can build with the new jp style is rather limited.
The tour is the only way for guests to view dinosaurs.Even in the jp movie while they are siting at dinner you can see projectors showing images of future attractions. They could have done more.Maybe have a boat tour for example.

I will recreate the 93 park but thats it.

A shame but thats how i feel.

Frontier's marketing team is sketchy as heck. The staged "pack hunting" raptors in the original JWE trailer and the Brachi seemingly eating from a tree and TLW Para noises in the RtJP trailer are the first examples I can think of off the top of my head of their marketing being kind of deceptive. :/

I'm surprised at how many of us have similar feelings towards this DLC. I haven't bought it yet, and therefore get the benefit of reading everyone's views on the topic. I do feel that it seems like some rather odd design choices were made with this DLC. It's almost as if Frontier wanted to provide what many players had asked for, but chose to only meet us half way on the features. Perhaps there's an underlying legal issues with whoever owns JPOG. Maybe that's why they didn't add viewing galleries.

Regardless, with so many people sharing this opinion, I do think Frontier will notice, and hopefully provide some changes.

Frontier are not ever associated with about Blue Fang or their game, Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, in any shape or form. Community manager Paul_Crowther conformed this to me a long time ago.

Don't get me wrong, I love this DLC. The skins and remodels alone make it worth it to me, personally. The campaign itself, while short and a little too easy, is fun and nostalgic and for me turned an otherwise awful sick day into a fun romp down memory lane. Hearing Sam, Laura, and Jeff all bantering back-and-forth together again was great as well. But yeah, there's a lot of little things that strike me as odd. For example not being able to use the helipad hatchery in JP sandbox mode is just...weird and dumb imo. It's so much easier than having a release pen and then having to tranq and move each dino.

Frontier tends to drag their feet on things a bit but I have faith they'll make some adjustments later down the line.

That's great but.... my post was not about it being affiliated, in fact, my post is more about them not being affiliated. If they are not affiliated, then there could be potential legal reasons for avoiding adding some features to the JP Era DLC that might make it appear like they are coping the JPOG game

Well, generally speaking, they never copy any exclusive trademark materials from other games in the franchise as a whole. The troodon’s bite was really a mere inspiration from members of the team who know Jurassic Park: The Game (not a direct copy), and both the Ankylodocus and Spinoraptor are two of the four game appearance only hybrids to have a larger Universal presence via merchandising.

I agree, my comment is merely a guess as to why some things might not be included in this DLC. Not because they are copiers (because they are not), but more because they want to manage risks. It's a similar argument as to why when some things can't be added people immediately blame it on the licensing with Universal. Thanks though for posting that screenshot.

I mean, the base game has a viewing gallery, but Blue Fang didn't seem to care about that. Besides, there's plenty of ways they could design a JP era themed viewing gallery that's still different than the one present in JPOG.

Yeah the helipad functioning as a hatchery was really a time and trouble saver in the campaign. Plus more space for dinosaurs, i really hope they'll add that later on. For the JP era that even how it should work considering there is still a 'site B'

Well that's all you actually saw functioning in the movie is the Ford Explorer safari tour. I honestly never noticed any of the other attractions in the movie during the dinner scene. Most JP fans just want the safari tour with the Ford Explorer cause that's what we saw in the movie. That's basically what this DLC is, it's based on the movie like the main campaign is based on JW where you saw stuff like viewing galleries and so on. None of that was seen in the 93 JP movie.

I agree that people should be allowed to mix the two themes in Sandbox but a lot of the stuff in the JP DLC most likely won't work in the JW part of the game. But expecting to be able to mix the themes in all the DLC that is based on JW is a bit ridiculous and I don't see the point. If you want JP just go play the JP DLC and if you want JW just go play the main campaign or the DLC's that involve JW. It's really that simple.

You should never believe the stuff you watch in game trailers. That's well known to most gamers. Trailers are almost never stuff from the original game... That's only deceptive if you expect things from trailers, which you never should.

in its current state it's a COMPLETE NO-BUY HANDS-OFF for me until or if they add the option to mix and match JP assets with JW assets for ALL modes not the 2 dumb restriction to sandbox and challenge only mode we all know and love. if you could imagine seeing this in your park while playing the vanilla base campaign would any of you say no? i think not.

You CAN see this in the DLC campaign... I don't understand your argument. JP and JW are 25 years seperated. It makes pretty good sense you can't mix them in Campaign. Should be able to in Sandbox though. The storylines have nothing to do with each other. Unless you can travel through time.

i don't care about that! i just want the stuff in the game because it looks cool and awesome more so than the JW assets i might add. you may not want it but i do and to have the option on or off would have been nice if it was in there! why do you think most people are gunning for the 1993 jeep wrangler rangers when they play the campaign early hmm?

The stuff is already in game?? I love the JP style even more, and will probably not play the JW era again. That's why we got this DLC. It's there. Buy it or not. But don't say it's not there, when it's right in front of you. And yes they are much nicer than the JW assets. SO go buy it and get the nice stuff.

And yes people like the old Wranglers, because it's the original JP. That's what we got now with the DLC. The original game is JW. NOT JP.

it won't be available for use in the campaign and will be restricted to sandbox and challenge mode only you do understand that? frontier is not maximizing the full value of this DLC. i'd rather the option to "mix and match" be made available to all modes instead of just two. why you prefer to just restrict it to just two modes instead of all of them makes no sense. think far not short

It's already a campaign. So it can be used in all 3 modes. You just can't travel in time, which of course would make no sense. I just think logical...

This might surprise you but yes for me personally I actually would say no. I prefer them separate.
