I love this game and I'm not disappointed

I understand that it will continue to grow, expand and flourish as new content and features are added after the initial release.

I accept that bugs will be fixed and gameplay adjusted over the coming months.

I expect there to be times when servers crash under load , bugs or just bad luck.

I do not have an overblown sense of entitlement to any particular feature.

After many months I still find myself sitting back and saying to myself "This Rocks"!

By and large, I'm having a great time in Elite: Dangerous.

I am not surprised there have been some persistent issues and cut features. That said, I am disappointed about some of them and I feel the game is being released too soon.

Well said good Sir.

Do not worry, someone will come along and "balance" this thread with some negativity soon and universal balance will be restored....

Nice to see at least some get it. Right on commander!
+1

Shok.

Although I agree with parts of the OP comments, this day and age is full of companies wanting money for things they aren't actually going to do, so that doesn't mean he 'gets it'.

It means theres a part of the problem he doesn't get.

Imagine if you are asked to do something by your employer, they say, if I hire you, will you get able to get X done by this time? You say sure, and you don't do it. Do you think they're happy with you and just tell you 'I understand it's an investment and that this work will evolve and eventually develop into what I want.'

No, not often. It comes more of on the lines of, "Okay, you screwed up, maybe I won't fire you yet and give you a chance but you have to explain to me why it wasn't done, and what you're doing about it."
If you don't communicate with your boss at that point, you get fired. They may like you, enjoy your company, think you're a 'great guy or gal' and have the potential for a bright future, but these underlying issues need to be resolved.

This is a multi-directional scenario.

Personally I enjoy the game, I think it's great and I think it may have a bright future, but these underlying issues still need to be resolved.

Bla bla bla disagree.
Bla bla bla Not enough content/Missing adventure game tropes
Bla bla bla Multi-player tropes/External views/Yaw is nerfed/Entire galaxy does not dynamically respond when I blow my nose.
Bla bla bla Call this a gamma?
Bla bla bla Not ready for release
Bla bla bla My perception of future titles Star Citzen/No Man's Sky/Other suggest they will be better
Bla bla bla My memory of mature titles Eve/X/Sim City 2000 in comparison dictate my thoughts on this game
Bla bla my rose tinted spectacles tell me Frontier/Freelancer/Sim City 2000 was better than this nonsense.
Bla bla Frontier lied to me and so did the Government
Bla bla Down with this sort of thing.

Have I covered everything?

I WANT to say yes, but probably not...

You know, this is flame bait, almost this entire thread. All that is happening here is you're dismissing people who paid for something that appears that it won't deliver what is currently being advertised, beyond what was already said about offline.

This is akin to someone buying a dishwasher which is supposedly able to automatically go through each cycle, but it turns out you have to manually set it. You paid for it already, so have other people, and you're upset about it.
The manufacture isn't saying much about it, but you have other people who are telling you well too bad, I'm happy with it's wash and dry sequence so it doesn't matter if you didn't get as advertised.

It's rude and still not helpful. You can't balance a forum by calling it positive while reflecting negatively on other peoples concerns over something not as advertised.

More content is allways good. I would not say this is everything i hope for in a space game...

BUT

It is as close as it gets and considering they keep working and expanding on this absolutely brilliant base makes me very happy.

What makes me happy most is their suport for VR. These devs saw VR for what it can be in the future and jumped on the train very early.
The result is a showcase title for virtual reality. It can be improved but it is one of the best VR titles out there.

Nobody is dismissing anything. There is a good selection of threads to choose from, many of which make valid points, arguments and well framed discussion. Equally when threads are discussing positive feedback or completely unrelated discussion from those playing the game or asking for help it's quite rude to chime in stating your current unrelated hang-up & objections about the game just because we are closing in on a stated release date.

It's actually quite reasonable to point out the things that appear they won't delivered on schedule. I know every business in the world would like you to wait until they have all their sales, it's out and done so they can just say 'It is what it is' but that's wishful thinking.

In addition, I never said anything is wrong with posts pointing out things they like about the game. The problem is a lot of people do it in a fashion as a direct counter argument to people who are not as please.

That was an insult if you didn't catch that.

Statements like that are the perfect example of what is happening here. It would be the same if I said in a new thread "I do not have an extensive ignorant sheeple complex" while pointing out negative flaws in the game.
I'm not trying to imply anyone does either, I just wanted to get my point across. I believe people are entitled to be happy with the game, even I am for a lot of it.

P.S Any of you who use things like backhanded compliments or whatever in the real world, you're not clever. I know you think you are, but you're not.
