I need help removing bugged caged animal and bugged vet

I was playing Franchise mode, and one of my Indian Peafowls got sick. I used the quarantine button, which generally calls a vet to box the animal and take it to a free quarantine until the disease is done incubating. Well the animal was boxed, but there was no follow up animation of picking up from the vet, so now the animal is permanently stuck in a box, and the vet is permanently stuck looking at it.

The peafowl has been on 0 welfare for years and I was hoping it would die off, but it just refuses to go away. I also fired the vet because I couldn't move them, but they are still stuck there. Is there no way to fix this? I'm severely disappointed that there is no way to forcefully remove things or kill off an animal that is just stuck. We need these tools or else we have permanent "features" in our zoos that we can never get rid off.

Any help?

One moment, I saw a very simular thread yesterday - I try to find it, they found a way.

EDIT: Somehow it's not in my watched list, even when I was reading it yesterday, I'll try to find it manually for you - probably takes some time.

Thanks Crea_TivELA, I appreciate it. It appears the issue is very common and was reported multiple times, so I'm hoping for either it to be patched soon or at least for us to get a work around. I have a million protesters in front of my peafowls enclosure that have never left in 3 years and it's annoying me because it is killing the guest happiness and there is nothing I can do about it. :(

This happened to me in Beta. I tried firing the vet, no go. The animal was not even listed in my zoo or trade center but the protesters came and the inspector trashed my zoo on this every time he showed up. After having to wait for two escaped animals that could not be caught to die and thier bones to disappear this was the final straw for me in Beta. Luckily there were only a couple days left lol.

I remember that someone just reloaded the current savefile (there should be more automatic saves too if it won't work) and the animal was in the habitat again.

You did try to move the vet manually to another path? Are there more vets than one in your zoo?

Not exact what I was reading yesterday, but maybe this is helping you already: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/how-to-move-boxed-animals.528442/

Please tell me if it already helped you out, otherwise I'll search on for the thread from yesterday - weird I can't find it 😅 but I would try if you're still stucked with the problem.
Hi Crea, this isn't the same issue. A few things I can't do currently:
  • Unbox animal - It was marked for quarantine. The animal is incubating a disease, until the disease goes away (which requires a quarantine), I can't interact with the box.
  • Move Animal - Option is grayed out because it's still inside the enclosure.
  • Move vet - Vet is inside the enclosure so the option is grayed out.

Everything that is inside a barrier appears to be classified differently because I can't manually displace them anymore...The animal should be dead, I got low welfare warning, starving warning, dehydration warnings on it, yet the box is still there.
The vet is fired and yet not moving away or disappearing.

I can't reload an old save, I have built 2 separate enclosures since loading the last save earlier today. I'm not willing to throw away 3 hours of work because the game is broken.

I was able to fix all stucked employees so far by building a fresh staff-path right below their feet and connect it to another one.
One time a fired vendor glichted into my tiger-habitat.

I had to tear down 3 walls, some stuff into the habitat and build a staff path to the vendor.
He startet to shake/reloacting and finally used the path to walk away after a short time.
Happened maybe half a dozend time in my 60+ hours so far.

Once the vet is free, the problem with your boxed animal should solve itself because he should take care for it.
Sometimes the employees are somehow permanently bugged and i fire them to be sure.

It sounds to me the thread I sended is fitting, because someone said "unbox" is greyed out and the staff would not pick it up. Okay but I see this thread didn't help you - so I try to find the other one, maybe that one helpes 🙈... sad it's so difficult to find, but I try.

Wolfen, your trick worked to get my vet away, but the boxed animal with the disease hasn't gone away. Still, thanks for fixing half my problem.
