i am very worried about my time and money invested in this game/company. After seeing all the hype for star citizen the general population of the game decreasing im afraid ed is having trouble staying afloat financially. i just hope FD can keep me and a crap ton of other people interested in playing the game until season 3 come out. Even if season 3 comes out how good will their marketing be to make us hyped up for the game and if so how many people are still playing the game since the release in 2014.:)

All the recent reports to the stock exchange beg to differ with your fears. The company is trading well and in profit, with another game release around the corner the future is looking bright for both Frontier and Elite. :)

No doubt there will be some who come here and scream doom and gloom but as one who has stocks and shares in various software houses, Frontier seem to be in a stable position.

didnt they said that NMS will be the death of Elite?
i have SA, and 3 elite accounts (2 with horizonts) . theres a very long way till SA will be playable , even when its out and 100% working i will still play elite and buy every update .
SO NO

Well...FD may well be rolling in the dough and you know how investors think..money talks. If the devs are most focused on the roller coaster park and (frankly it does look like a well polished game if you like that type) and that is where the moola is coming from..the investors will act accordingly and wont care one bit about how many planets you have yet to visit if they decide that the ED aspect of its portfolio is a drain.

Remember Everquest next? Nosgoth? Money talks....and the last time i was able to spend money on ED was wayyyy back.

No indication at all that they're in trouble. Apart from that, why do you "need" to know ?
If you hold shares, this is the wrong page to look for their current financial status.

I can vouch for one - me.

It's an amusing bit of timing for one of these threads. Just on the day that 2.3 release date is announced in a banner at the top of this page. Ship launched fighters and a plethora of QoL changes, plus passenger missions. Yeah, I think people will be playing for a while, eh?

Seen all the hype for SC?

My lulzbucket filleth over :)

You'll be seeing hype for SC until the heat death of the universe. And more ship sales ;)

FD's accounts are quite visible as per UK law - have a peek yourself and let us know if you think they are in a precarious situation financially.

Game audiences wax and wane regularly. Something shiny and new comes along, and everybody jumps on it for 15 minutes, and the die-hards panic.

Fixed that for you.

2.3 is multi-crew.

Everything is stable. Smack the one who told you otherwise upside the head Gibbs style.

The investors in Frontier are pretty much the shareholders, and the majority shareholder is one David Braben, and Elite is his baby. He's not going to bail on it unless something goes catastrophically bad. I think that you have your analysis all wrong; Elite is necessarily not generating new income right now, and will not until Horizons is complete. The next major opportunity to generate revenue from Elite is Season 3, and the fact that they aren't rushing with Horizons tells me that their plan doesn't require Elite to be the big income generator for a while.

Planet Coaster is where the next big revenue stream is, and should that do as well as hoped (and there's no reason why it wouldn't) it should provide enough revenue to keep Elite development going while continuing development on the PC franchise and maybe even moving onto a third franchise.
