I swear the Cobra is the ship that fate means for me to pilot...

Being playing exclusively with mouse and keyboard lately. It's great, I have been flying a Hauler around doing some exploring to make some money and cosy up to certain factions.

But today, with 46 million in the bank, I decided to buy a Cobra. Now to get all the modules I wanted, I had to hop between two systems.

Now I won't lie. Landing the Hauler with a mouse was difficult. But... I try landing the Cobra with the same equipment... No problem whatsoever!

The universe is clearly telling me something.

It's a good ship, Brent.

The cobra mk iii was my go to ship in elite2 and elite3 before moving on to the imperial courier.
Then in ED, it was also my go-to ship before I moved on to the aspx, python, cutter.
Size-wise and performance-wise I'd think the aspX approximates the Millemium Falcon more,
where the Falcon has that inertial heft feel & durability to it as seen in Ep.7, TFA as it veers through the jakku ground debris scene, (as well as ESB), because the cobra mkiii is just too sleek and maneuverable like a fighter compared to the falcon.

Dang OP. I just yesterday bought DBX for Palin's 5kly. Now you made me want my Cobra MkIII back from where I parked it in 40 Ceti. Must resist...

I like all my ships, for different reasons, from my smallest (Courier), to the biggest (Cutter). But there is just something about the Cobra Mk3, that takes me back to classic Elite (Grew up on Elite, all flavours), and as a result, out of all the ships, its the one I find most thrilling/nostalgic to take on a journey. Plus tinkering it is like no other, its the teenager with his first car feeling, do they do furry dice yet?

Oddly, and call me strange, but I get the same feeling with the Cobra Mk4.... it not as nimble... its not as fast... but it does have some benefits.... and engineered up.. its not as bad as people make out, its that underdog feeling that makes me enjoy it.

Now they just need to release the Panther Clipper, and I can recreate my other elite memory of flying a giant invincible toaster around.
