To be fair, some of the rude people bring up some good points, they just could phrase their posts a little more constructively.

Agreed. If there wasn't such a sandpaper-like abrasive quality to the forums the devs would probably participate more.

Instead its a whack-a-mole game where if a dev appears they are bombarded with "What about (insert favorite hot button issue here)?" or "When is (insert favorite hot button issue here) going to come out?"

Given the average age of people on these threads, its simply staggering to me how toxic they are.

Really guys? It's the same on all games forums.

I always find it more surprising that people moan about the rudeness and post bottom-kissing threads asking for forgivrness from the devs for the sins of the people. It's bum-achingly cringeworthy.

As to rudeness? This is the world of forums, what else should be expected?

Constructive commentary and debate without the vitriol, self-entitlement and underlying insults could make for an exceptional forum Arry.

These threads should be the exception on the Internet given the depth people care about this little project of 1's and 0's.

Araviel is correct. At least E: D is out and being continually improved. It's also a damned fine game. It has shortcomings and more than a few bugs, but I still log on nightly.

I'll probably never quit playing E: D, but the forums... That's another matter.

I understand what you mean OP, but there are a lot of upset people. I, for one, became disheartened when:

1. No offline.
2. Powerplay.
3. A) CQC being a console exclusive, therefore not being able to beta-test a new feature (despite Alpha and Beta backers being "promised" they would be able to test all features, at all stages). Unless, of course, B) you use your FD discount to purchase the XBOne version! Double slap in the face.

My potential fourth is FD reneging on the Lifetime Expansion Pass.

Other players have made good points too, like bugs still not being fixed, or dumbed down graphics. At the end of the day, some of us see ED becoming a train-wreck of ad-hoc features that we don't need. But I try to take solace with the fact that we're only on v1.3, and that expansions are yet to come. I just want ED to be awesome, and the potential for it to be so is still there.

Absolutely right, so many of us waited so long to get where we are right now. I'm just overjoyed to be playing elite again.

Even though it's quite a painful read at times, I'd rather see a forum full of heated debate, than a barren forum of indifference.
