Turned out to be a bad idea.
A simple pickup mission from a Threat level 0 settlement.
It turns out I had a 50cd fine from a totally unrelated faction about 300LY away from where I was sent. So I'm wandering around, minding my own business, looking for Container 2. It was outside, so I didn't need to break in to anywhere, and I had the unlock code. Easy money (or so I thought). Apparently being scanned and having a 50cr fine makes me some kind of serial killer. Before I know what's happening the whole settlement is shooting at me, and for a threat level 0 settlement there are a lot of guns. Before I could even activate my shield and draw my gun I'm "dead". I come to in a penal station, and now I have an additional 500cr fine (guess I must have been done for littering the place with my corpse), a 41,000cr taxi bill back to civilisation, a 5,000cr bill to transfer my ship back to where I can use it, and a failed mission. Plus having lost all my bounties, combat bonds and cartographic data.
It will be a while before I bother taking another Threat level 0 mission...
