I want my own land !

Aren't Fleet Carriers supposed to be What you'd call "your very own station"? Just wing up with yourself. One man squadron reporting in.

Fill it with microtransaction trash.

In fact monetization might be a good reason for Fdev to do this. Much like multicrew, which is mostly a useless function but provided a great platform for microtransactions.

A base built on a planet somewhere could open an entire universe of vanity nonsense for people to blow money on.

Every friday something new, tactical paint pack kitchenware and Xihe Biomorphic Companions... Once a year maybe a Chrome fireplace, Gold Winchester wingback and smoking jacket.

LMAO.. Tactical knife set. [haha]

Ah good old ED forum "you want the game to play by itself" hyperbole... never gets old :D

Why Hyperbole...wanting your base to generate Materials for you whilst you're away is literally the DEFINITION of "the game playing itself" isn't it?

Is it a bad thing or a good thing? Many games has this mechanics and I dont think everybody is idling doing nothing there.

I guess it depends on whether you think its OK to acquire so many of material x that you can just go to an engineer and roll and roll and roll again until you get the maximum stats to within 0.0001% and whatever supposedly rare special effect you desire...or whether you think it should be difficult to acquire materials and you're happy with whatever you get even if it is "a tiny bit less than the theoretical maximum"

If those materials are used to upgrade and expand the settlement I don't see a problem.

By the way, it's Not fun gameplay to force players to actively grind for materials.

Let players deploy Automated Mining Extractors on a planet. Then come back in a day to collect materials is more fun.

btw, yes I wasn't thinking about setting up some crazy afk mining operation, just some tiny slowly one to give your base a purpose - you can already find POI on planets with automatic mining things, why we commanders cant hve one?

I always marvel a bit when I see some of the elaborate bases people build in NMS. My own tend to be rather compact and practical, rarely more than 4 stories tall, but usually only 1. I don't see Elite player facilities reaching this sort of complexity. Honestly, they'd need very little - an Omni-sized landing pad, repair, refuel, restock. That's really all we need.

Why would you as a pilot go through the trouble of building and maintaining an outpost though.
Not only is it lonely, its dangerous too.

I'd rather have a penthouse apartment in one of those inverted skyscrapers of an Coriolis station. Nice, comfortable 1g, amazing view and access to goods and services.

Because a lot of people don't see themselves as just pilots. They see themselves as individuals in space ships who can travel the galaxy, who can go virtually anyway and who want to set up a home of their home where they like.. in the bubble? Sure. On the edge of Sag A? Sure. Beagle Point, why not?

I'd put penthouses/apartments under the same umbrella with base building: "Commander Housing" and would expect both. One to cater for the side that wants to build a home of their own, one to cater for those who just want a nice apartment with a nice view; and the fence-sitters who'd thoroughly enjoy both ( i.e: me :D )

Hello, please respond, is it possible to add to the game the possibility of building your own planetary station. Small in person or more for the clans. It would not be bad if the site was not dug except for the owner or if someone finds it. After all, you can store ships and accumulated resources there.
At you basically all is I mean stations on a planet them it is possible to sell separately a landing pad, solar batteries and td.
After buying the player flies to the planet, puts a beacon that has coordinates. Then sends a request for construction. I certainly do not know how in the game on the planets the stations that are now located (npc), but having the data of the star system, the planet and the coordinates on it, I hope to add stations, at least once a month, in a mini patch.
In the game a huge all-in-one and have my own personal angle I think many would agree. Personally, I would buy as an addition to the game.
All the best to you and successful creation of the game.

Hi Ragbur, I think you will find that FD do not respond often to this sort of request.
There is a seperate group for making Suggestions and Feature Requests

Same logic that others (not me) have applied to other not fun aspects of the game:

It is not fun game play to force players to actively grind a loading screen to go long distances.

Let players deploy an autopilot and come back in a few days.

Can't defend one and not the other.
