If I come out of a station and see a fight, I join in. As soon as you land one on the perp, the Law seems now to hold off the final kill so you can claim it.

I hadn't found the DDF discussion on this. I did a quick search on the forum but confess I didn't spend a lot of time looking.

I decided to put mine in the suggestions section, since it really just is a suggestion for new ways to play.

Didn't create a poll. Was just hoping for it to gain traction in the suggestion area as a place to start.

I'm not sure if it's just me but most people tend to look in the dangerous discussion more than anything. As I'm running a poll and want to look at the number of people interested (in order to hopefully get Dev attention) I would like it to stay here, that will be up the modifiers though I guess but hopefully it won't be moved.

why would i want to help traders in any way without being payed well to do it?

bounty hunter allready do what the police does the only thing missing is when we scan for cargo if its stolen the other guy doesnt get a fine.

I think your missing the point a bit, it's to do with immersion, some people do combat for a particular faction in order to rank up. It's a goal for them and makes the game more interesting to play.

All I'm saying is the same ranking way but with the security side instead of the military, rank in Empire get the Clipper, rank in Fed get the drop ship. I'm saying rank in police and get the police Eagle or police viper etc, same as normal but with bonus to recover stolen cargo and with security vessel livery.

You could also show as green to any other commander who has a high reputation to the system you patrol and you could show up as Security Vessel Cmdr to them

This idea would open up a lot of gameplay and actually give you a purpose in Elite rather than having to make one up in your head. Police can patrol, escort, rescue except it won't happen.

I would like to think it's already on the cards, be a shame if something similar that eventually allowed you to have a Security Vessel title with livery didn't make it into the game when I think it would be very popular
