Newcomer / Intro Icons and YOU, oh...and insert image question...

I've figured out what most of the in-game icons mean on my own. I'm sort of confused on these two:

Image #1

Image #2
https://snag.gy/T1xprl.jpg

Also...I see others post in message jpgs but when I try to do it, I get:
https://snag.gy/Yp2oid.jpg

From what I've read they've disabled uploading of pix. How come others are able to do this? Is there a trick to doing it? It would be handy to have when newbies (me still!!) have questions and want to provide the user base with as much info as we can to get a good, quick answer.

Thanks!

To upload pics you need to use a third party website. http://imgur.com is the most popular.

Once the image is uploaded to imgur you can click the down arrow and get share links and you just paste the link to embed the image. Alternatively use 'Insert Image' OR use the IMG tag around your graphical link. E.g. [*IMG]https://snag.gy/T1xprl.jpg[*/IMG] is used in the spoiler below (after removing the asterisks).
Your
T1xprl.jpg
is a community goal icon.

These icons are are shown and described on the Galaxy Map on the last tab:

(The first icon looks like it's for Horizons which I don't have as on Mac)

^^^^The first icon indicates you can land on that planet.

Edit:
That icon is only shown if you have exploration data for it and is landable (has no atmosphere). If a planet is "undiscovered" in your nav panel, it will not have that blue ship icon next to it even if it's landable until you scan it.

Edit 2:
For your image use the code (as Mr. Boombastic said):

"
"

and you'll get:

Image #2 shows the location of a currently active Community Goal ..

You'll find more info on the community goal under Galnet news (under Galactic Powers) from your left panel in ship, Galnet news in station services or in the CG's, listed separately at the top of the missions board. They also make it into the weekly newsletters.

***UGH!!*** <place image of Picard facepalm here>

Thanks, Commander, for pointing out something I should have found myself. I've been to that screen many times & just never put 2 'n 2 together.

Safe flying!
