Ideas for the future of the Imperial Cutter

Not really. The story behind the new ships is that they had to be designed from scratch for optimised SCO, with improved thermals and sturdier structure.
Many of the original ships are several hundred years old; the adder design is from nearly 400 years ago.
What if a bigger change in the old ships giving them SCO optimization would be the story and lore background of ship interiors, which would require quite some remodeling of a lot of ships ?

I really don't see the point. Maybe someone out there has tried to shove a modern engine into a Ford Model-T, but it's not something that would make commercial sense.
Likewise, it makes no sense for fdev to spend that much effort redesigning existing ships instead of creating new ones.

Honestly, I used it for transferring Trit to the carrier and occasionally in pvp if I wanted to be really annoying. I guess at least I can return it to its full time cancer pvp build now 🤣 As the Panther will obviously now be used as the Trit shuttle.

I want Luxury cabins in my Cutter. Now.
Its a beautiful ship and deserves to be allowed to haul the rich and famous around the wonders of our galaxy for business and pleasure.

This makes a lot of sense. And this is because it's a choice for a specific application you are 100% free to do or not. I'm not so thrilled about other changes to existing designs which impose a sense of ineluctability. Yeah, I put an SCO drive on my Cutter, too, because you're just left in the dust otherwise. It gives no competitive advantage when everybody has it, only disadvantages when you don't.

I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering about the fate of our big trusty old Cutters. It was a pain to acquire so I'm not about to put it up for sale.
I have a G5 Corvette for big pews, the Type-10 for mining, Beluga for space vacations and the Anaconda for engineer runs. Anyone have tips?

Trying to take advantage of its speed, here's two off the top of my head:
HGE/Wake/Mats/Scav Collector
Shield Tank AX (incase they return)

o7

It's a great patrol boat that can dominate in both haz-res and CZs. There's life in the old girl yet, mark my words!

Why do you have a repair controller and an AMFU on a mat collector?
On a side note, if you go heavy duty deep plating on your reactive armour and add another HRP with thermal res you get a HUGE boost is resistances and armour, with almost zero downsides
Why RC+AFMU? For when I go Open and get hit by Grom Bombs or just be clumsy smashing it into things. There's plenty of room for them.

I engineer all my RSC Armors to G5 Therm+Deep to get Thermal Resistance out of the way. I don't like engineering separate Therm HRPs for every ship (34). All my HRPs are HD+DP so I'm free to swap them around without having to manage thermal ever again. I don't get a huge resistance boost with HD armor. In fact, my TH armor with one HD HRP, I get 35% more resistance across the board and only 19% less overall armor. That's easily fixed with +1 HRP of any flavor. My maths might sucks so here:

RSC Armor TH-G5+DP + 1d HRP HD-G5+DP:

I like to min-max but not fanatic about it. It's a QOL thing for me.
