Idiotic design?! (Or, Do I really need to make ten separate cargo runs to appease this engineer?)

I agree it would be better if FDev thought of something more fun.
For example why not allow us to buy the stuff at different locations in the system, or perhaps find someone in a neighbouring system who is willing to sell his stock for a 100% markup.

Even better.

Add a waiting line.

- X rare goods resupply FOR YOU every X hours or days.
- Order 10 times that amount in one go and you will have to wait 10 times as long before you can order those goods again.

That means we CAN order rare goods in bulk but it will take a lot longer before we can do it again.

I'm still partial to the idea of buying rare goods at more markets but for an exorbitant amount of credits. That's essentially what I'm doing now anyway. :D

It's a time gate. It's designed to waste your time, in order to mask the pathetic lack of content.

No, it's called a Time Gate, and it has zero place in a full priced game.

Be nice when this mess goes free to play, though. Rare Commodity Drop Boosters in the Store!

The real function of time gates is as a cheap substitute for content.

You could just do it bit by bit. Whenever you are around the selling system, grab some and bring it there. Or do other stuff inbetween instead of doing it all at once.

Yup, this ^^^ is exactly what I've been doing. Got lucky enough to do a run when I could get an allocation of 15, delivered the 15, drove around the base for a while in an SRV, went to look at some of the awesome new planets. Later on found myself in a position to do another 15, delivered those and then went to check out the Guardians. At some point I dare say I'll get around to delivering the final 20. Early engineers have easy to meet requirements, later engineers have harder to meet requirements. I have no problem with that whatsoever. What's everyone's rush?
