Implying this game ever had a soul. Paintjobs are not hard to make. Yet they still charged us 7 a pop for what should be default options. And the lasers...
Get real. Frankly you are blissfully naive if you think we haven't already been thrown under the bus since day 1. And every couple months they have new designs that are just painted over the previous flat color paintjobs. And they know they have throngs of no life POS like me bent over a barrel. And any time they want some quick cash they can just wizz out some paintjobs and slap on a ship kit or two and roll in our money.

i won't jump into a conclusions, i'll just wait next season and see where game is heading. i believe it will be OK.
We can't force anything, there are other good games to play while new stuff is here. I can recommend you il2-bos flight sim and arma3 with it's editor, there is infinity battlecsape coming in beta this september.
I don't Know what are you expecting from this game but i'm sim player so my wish is simple atmo planets and stuff and tools for exploring while for FPS i play ArmA3 and il2-bos for flight sim so it covers my needs.
And by simple review from this season content i think next one could bring lifeless atmo-planets and walking inside ship+ some other features, i have impesion FD is implementin stuff bit by bit and i think it's reasonable cos it is easier to adjust things than when bringing end product ingame that can colapse.

Well I'd love a Disney spin-off for Elite Star-Wars edition that all of us secretly want 
Bioware could make a really really great story focussed game with Elite.
Bethesda could take it to RPG levels we haven't seen before and add lots of hand-crafted content to the proc gen that's already there.
Oh and if the Eve devs got their hands on the IP and game they'd probably turn it into the biggest MMO probably surpassing their own game
Plenty of spin-off opportunities some which I'd truly love. I still feel there's enough in Elite to make 3 or 4 different games for different audiences.

There is no soul in ED - that is at the heart of its failure.
I shouldn't worry about them selling it - who would want it? I would be more concerned about it being closed down - it is online after all.

Yeah thats true but Star Wars Elite would be epic. I'd say re-skin with galaxy/lore re-design and a few bits added to make it story-esque hero focussed than small cog that is the current Elite. I'd avoid massive changes but then again they do seem to do that..
Are you still here? You must lead an awfully depressing life, I've yet to see any positivity at all from you about anything. If things are so bad why are you spending so much (presumably) valuable time on the forums? Can't you just agree that you mis-spent £40 or whatever it is in your currency (I'd guess $ but that'd be making generalisations) and stop wasting bytes on the internet message board?
Your constant arguments have long since lost any heart and soul too. There's no suggestions, no basis, no positivity. If you said X is good, make Y more like X then there'd be a starting point. Just attacking something takes 0 effort.

Eh true, that was a bit far. Please consider this an unreserved apology (I believe my 2nd one ever on these forums in 8000 odd posts if memory serves). So sorry for any offence I agree that one was a bit over the line.
I just wanted to ask the question and try and understand what can make someone hang around and repeatedly voice a negative opinion about something. My personal philosophy is to express disappointment once, maybe twice at a push and then get up, move on and deal with new stuff as life is too short to hold grudges and waste my time on such things in a never-ending cycle. Can't see why really so trying to understand what the point of the time investment in something you've repeatedly expressed what I can only describe as "hate" or "extreme dislike" for.
I mean if you are trying to rubbish the game, put new players off or damage the developers then it's exceptionally unlikely it'll make a large difference. It may put a few people off but in the grand scheme no major effect.
If it's trying to provoke a change in development or further your cause then thats impossible as nobody knows what the cause is that you are trying to further except "heart, soul and humour" which are abstract concepts and very subjective.
If it's trying to let off steam then fair enough we've all been there and done that but it's rare people do it over a period of 12 months or more.
In short I'm trying to figure out why you are still here after all this time? What's the purpose? What's the end-goal, the mission, the objective?
To take a contrary stance my goal here is to be a helpful part of a community that has helped me. To put suggestions and feedback into the Devs to try and get a better game. And finally in a very small way to try and keep interest/enthusiasm going to keep development going of a game I really enjoy playing and have invested significant time and money in.
I think all 3 are achievable targets in my own small contribution towards the larger goal. When I loose said enthusiasm for the game I'll leave and focus my energies elsewhere.
Maybe I'm too target orientated as a person but I honestly don't get it. Help me out here...

I want FD to genuinely reconsider, reframe, realign whatever you want to call it - and think about making ED fun.
The original Elite was a smash hit - groundbreaking too - but it was also fun.
This is my constant and consistent complaint. Make it playable.

Actually, I would like FD to not sell to a big company, but instead merge with, collaberate with and/or learn from ... StarWraith 3D Games LLC.
They are, or I should say, he is the maker of Evochron Legacy and the versions before it. It and ED, in my opinion, or the two best space games in existence to date.
