If I could fly only two ships, they would be . . .

My first ship would be the same as the ship I chose as my "only one" ship, the Anaconda, as it can cover all my mining, trading and combat related tasks.

The second ship is easily the best small pad ship in existence, even if it's a bit slow, the almighty Cobra MkIV.

I'd fly the Federal Corvette because I personally find it beautiful, and it has all the hardpoints I want to do multi-role tasks. Makes me feel good about spending multiple years out in the black between station visits.

I'd also fly the Python because it can do anything, and also land on medium pads. ;)

But yeah, I'd probably keep at least one of everything else, if for no other reason than to show off all my paintjobs. XD

I would not fly 2 ships anymore, would likely quit

Vette for combat
Cutter 1 for missions and trucking
Cutter 2 for mining
Python for Deliveries and Trit pickup from small stations
DBX for easy landing SRV, easy mats, easy scanning/exploring of everything
Chieftain for fun medium combat
Conda 1 for bub taxi, used to explore with 80ly but fleet carrier ended the need
Conda 2 for passenger missions
Carrier... love it

2 ships? cannot happen anymore. pfttt 😁

Edit: Likely getting the Krait Mk2 next... thinking it might be the perfect ship for Odyssey, Medium ship, landing with 2 other players starting with both my sons, SRV, fighter bay and VIEW for facing outposts is intriguing to say the least. Vette will do the Job, but smaller foot print and Frontier saying Medium ships will shine, makes me think this is the way to go.... or maybe the Challenger.

As much as I respect the Python and the Conda, I don't like flying them so they're both out.

First choice has to be the Krait MkII as I've been to Beagle Point, got Combat Elite, and killed Cyclops Interceptors in them.
Second choice would probably be the Corvette as it's a beauty, very adaptable and great to fly for a big ship. Terrible hardpoints though.

Third choice would be the Cutter for bulk trading and basking.

IF FDEV would want to have a talk with Ironclad, I'd pick the Ragnarov and Ankylon Titans. No worries anymore about tankers. Nor docking: the stations can dock with me....

I didn't like to fly the Python either. Have been using it for rescue missions only.
