If I spent as long playing the game as I do on the forum....

I'd be a multi-Corvette-owning megabillionaire by now.

Are you a More-on-the-Forum type of CMDR too?

The main reason for me is that I can have a quick lurk, comment, rep and be gone without having to quit all my work software, browsers, music and, well, mainly work, since I work from home on my only capable PC :(

If I want to play (and have a decent experience) I need to close down all but essentials, plug in the HOTAS (and sometimes the Oculus) and get flying. I can't have a colleague on Skype pinging me as I'm approaching a pad in a Starport, or being interdicted!! Ho Hum. Such is life!

Fly safe!

I certainly spend more time on the forum than in-game, I guess for similar reasons.

I also work from home on my main PC, and the forums are very easy to browse during work without being too distracting - skim the few subforums I follow and my subscribed threads, try not to get lost in DD.

My gaming time itself is split between Elite and my other games - so I use the forums almost every day but maybe only a few Elite sessions a week.

50/50 for me with two monitors...

I used to spend quite a few hours trawling the forum a couple of years ago.

Now there's too many quit, whinge & rage threads, so I don't spend anywhere near as long now.

Play much more game time than forum now.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I'm just glad that they don't have an "hours spent of the forums" indicator. It would be embarrassing.

Post count is a good stand in.

T.J. is either winning hands-down or losing horribly, depending on your perspective. ;P

As for me - I don't play Elite while doing other things in general. If I'm playing I'm playing, not multi-tasking.

That said I spend way more time on the forum then I do flying my spaceships. heh heh. Mainly because I can and do multi-task at work. lol.

Playing the game and reading the forum are going hand in hand for me. I couldn't watch all the loading screens and endless miles of empty space without having the forum to browse in between. Oh and there is always music, radio and audio-books too.

Generally you can assume that I am playing Elite too when I am on the Forum. Just sometimes I have the opportunity to go online at work too. But that's scarce. So as I stated elswhere about 50/50 since I am not invested into a lot of combat anymore.

Hmm. I play the game about twelve hours a week. Forums about two to three hours a week. That's at most 20% forum time of my total Elite time. Oddly enough, I don't do the forums on my second screen while in game all that often--that's mostly saved for EDDB! Instead, it's my thing to do at work when I need a break from work.
