If only ~1% of the galaxy is explored....

Care to elaborate?
the principle of combining zoom and spectrum looks sound but the endless panning around gets old. fixed and slow panning speed in vr is a major extra holdup. the game also puts you deliberately in a difficult spot as the middle of a system is a bad starting place for camera movement. this can be alleviated by getting some distance first and getting a more convenient "bigger picture", but then again i was just jumping into this system, i didn't just teleport here but zoomed in from several ly away, why do i not have already an overview on approach?

the info is there, we do have an orrery but its use is very limited and secondary. but i could also arrive in a system with a clear idea of the overall mass distribution and orbits and just zoom into more detail where i want.

ironically, i've also learned to like it in a way, but the artificial complexity and the pointless 'camera angle chasing' just kills it. if we're supposed to just chase balls blindly i guess a keybind for "jump to nearest signal" could help considerably.

A 74ly jump range DBX... That's impressive! But it must be paper thin to get that much range out of it! Brave to even consider landing on a planet in that!
That's with CG fsd.
Well, I have g5'd HD deep plating lightweight armor(0 mass) and g5'd 3D enhanced LP low draw shield(1 t).

Usual landings are no issue, didn't try landing on higher than average g-force.

Canyon racing... As described in earlier post, not recomended in paper dbx with 89mj shield 😁
