If someone from Fdev streams themselves unlocking all the Guardian tech. I will eat my eye patch.

No, the video is accurate. It actually makes the process look better than it is, in reality it feels worse than the video portrays, lol.

Oh dear!

You know the totally honest reason that I keep coming back to this forum, having given up on the game around 8 months ago now I think, is that I might come on one day and find a lot of jubilant forum members spamming thread after thread, post after post about how FDev have got their their feces together and sorted the game out.

Maybe one day....... Maybe....

Same here. And every year I think, maybe next year...

How many hours were spent developing the Guardian content, only for (seemingly) no-one to want to play it? There are definitely some bad decisions being made.

The Guardian Weapons are worth the grind, in that they work very well against the Thargoids.

I don't understand the appeal of the Guardian power plant (or power distributor). Massive grind to pay 20% more for a PP that is just below a G5 engineered plant's output. Yes, the Guardian one will have more integrity, but is that worth that much grind and the 20% higher cost?!

If the Guardian PP and distributor gave you immunity to the Thargoid EMP, that would be a major plus. As it is, I find these two to be a major waste of time.

To be fair, they have added some good stuff. But the clangers get the biggest viewing. The Guardian Tech thing is a clanger. But the trade update is really good in my view. It makes trading a much more enjoyable experience.

Wing missions are okay, but I think they got the implementation wrong regarding rewards.

Yeah the personal narative is a dude. It should of been done through chained missions but hey ho, maybe they will do that in the future. But the actual guardian ruins themselves are great, just like the thargoid stuff. Beutifully designed and put together. You can't knock the artstyle.

The C&P system is better then before, but needs some refining.

It's been a common theme for years... CQC, Powerplay, Generation Ships, Thargoid bases, Guardian Bases, Multicrew.
All that Dev time with someone green lighting it thinking the end result was a good one.

Well, to be fair:

CQC would be awesome if it was in the main game, a virtual space (just login once safely docked) for pilots to hone their skill against other pilots with tournament prizes and their name in Galnet.

Powerplay built into the BGS with their own mission structures and storyline (but no unique powerups - cause then everyone joins for that reason alone) and, dare I say it, personal narrative, working for the glory of the empire under what's his name or her that's promising change.

Generation ships with some kind of gameplay attached to them, and maybe a series of one off missions that would lead you to them would've helped there.

Learning about Thargoid resistant cargo holders thru osmosis and needing to wait hours for a special USS to be able to open the bases really didn't help right from the beginning, but then to have thursday morning tick burning stations to show alien invasion... well, even the syfy channel has done better (check out The Expanse).

Guardian bases: fuggedaboutit - or, ah hell no!

And finally, multicrew, shared SRV and wings would have worked a whole lot better with actual proper multiplayer servers, screw the cost. P2P for those players unwilling to pay a fiver a month, decent multiplayer mechanics for those that would.

Yeah, would. When PP got released I seriously expected to see it integrated with the BGS and missions system within a few months...
When CQC was released I expected it to be integrated with the main game shortly...
When the Engineers where released I expected soon to see alternative ways to unlock and rank up based on missions and not craft&trash...
When Guardians and Multicrew was announced I expected that this will be developed into fleshed out NPC crew system, and crew roles beyond combat...
And since 1.0 I am waiting for naval progression to be developed beyond this petty state where you can be promoted to Admiral by hauling 10t of biowaste.

The other idea that would make the guardian PP and PD nice would be if you outfit both, it would remove the 4 weapon limit...

You'd be tricked out with a guardian powered, thargoid slaying machine...

Yep, would have made CQC a much more accessable thing from the beginning.

Pretty much what I have been asking for from the beginning. It should have been completely integrated into the BGS instead of something just lying on top which has minimal impact.

Generation ships with some kind of gameplay attached to them, and maybe a series of one off missions that would lead you to them would've helped there.
Again, it is something that should be added along with the these kind of missions to the thargoid and guardian bases a bit like a kind of personal narative...

Yup not the way to do something.

Guardian bases: fuggedaboutit - or, ah hell no!
Yep, look at Generation ship series of mission ideas for a personal narative.

Multicrew was always going to be a fail when there was no actual gameplay to supplement it. Doing the same stuff that you can do in your own ship which is more fun was always going to be a waste of time. What they needed to do was to add more refined controls over the weapons power systems, taking power away from one weapon, putting it into another, being able to overcharge them with the chance of damaging them and so on. Add some tactics to the scenario.

Has anyone from FD responded to this request yet? You’d think they’d be well up for it.

Show off their great gameplay and make a few quid for charity.

No way, we all know the console games are simplified to cater to the peasants' simpler minds :D :D :D

(JOKE!)

Rootsrat, that is why there is only ONE text entry box in Elite: the system name box in the galaxy map.

A PC only version would shut out an enormous market. It would make the space fanatics buy a PC, though... :)

Can you imagine how long the stream would need to be to do this?
The Devs would need to take it in shifts.

Not to mention, if they do it in open, they'll get ganked too probably..... A lot!

And its not just the repetition, it is the lack of in game guidance. Should get a mission with clear instructions for the first site, easy run with 2 sentinels. The mission would then chain to another site, a bit harder, and so on through 6 of them where then you are done and have all the blueprints for everything. If too hard at first you can stop part with through with just enough for one module. This format would have progression and reward without repetition (unless you die that is).

Even just putting in a delay before the next mission was available or having you do some task in between leading onto the next mission would have been better - 18 times over is incredibly lazy and that's just the minimum time. Imagine you have to get all the other stuff as well.

One must wonder which viewer is unemployed enough to watch entirety of such stream. Also, assuming this is the most interesting thing he has to do for few days.
