If someone from Fdev streams themselves unlocking all the Guardian tech. I will eat my eye patch.

I don't know where the 18 came from, but it would take 52 blueprints to unlock all guardian tech currently listed on Inara.

How come, we're all kicking up a stink about doing the guardians stuff 18 times...

Yet we're all also quite happy to repeat ourselves on this forum 100s of times over?

:p

Personally, I think each site should unlock something different.
And each puzzle should be different too.
Like sort Sodoku of Guardian Ruins.
You can also adjust the difficulty so better modules require more noggin power to unlock.

I know what you mean, but I think more value comes from beating this dead horse, than that one.

Just checked - I still have close to 50 assorted blueprints and I have weapons and powerplant unlocked - reason ? - they originally dropped by the shedload, so if you visited Guardian site in first few days it gave you barrow loads (so yay for me). It may have been a bug - but to take it one per "trip" was totally overkill. We could also use a "broker" for Guardian (and Thargoid) gubbins as well - rather annoyingly we will prob see that thrown in a year from now when it's no longer as needed.
The thing that worried me more recently though was the Guardian FSD carry on - that was never going to work in any configuration or any build, so it can't have had any testing at all - literally none, not in a beta build or an FDev console - so why was it in game at all ?
That's more telling than a 'd drop rate or the level of busy work.
Meanwhile - just loot lots of everything and keep it is my general advice (in game and RL :p ) - whatever is not nailed down is yours - and if you can prise it up, it's not nailed down.

Yeah I think most people are only referring to requirements for last 3 things released.
Some of us were voicing concern after the first modules were released, but I guess a lot more people were interested in the FSD booster.
At least it brought a modicum of attention to the issue.

I feel for the youtubers who review this stuff.

Or fly the same 1 hour SC route hauling virtual pax. People actually cried when that was removed from the game :D

Can't argue with the Op though, flew out to the sites after Beta, had a great time visiting a few sites, no way in hell would I do all that scanning for a few modules in one go, I'll probably visit every few months, unlock them by next year, still haven't G5 every engineer yet, no rush.

Least the passenger missions were rewarding. They removed the credit grind for weeks at a time for some, myself included. S

But the again that doesnt fit into the snide comment so probably best you just make the superficial comparison like you did.

No it doesn't, but I understand everything's fine as long as you make billions.. Carry on

The art team do a brilliant job, the sound team do a brilliant job, whoever initially designs the puzzles does a good job, then someone comes along and decides that doing that 10+ times is a great idea. Screw that, I can't fathom why anyone would bother for a bunch of modules that are not even needed to play ED or fight the thargoids.

The only way that dev will figure things out if people stop doing these repetitive puzzles.. I took one look and flew back to the bubble.

Silly forumites, just getting them to play the game normally is like pulling teeth. I suppose if you want to reach for the stars so they at least make it to the moon, that's a good strategy.

Put me down for a paint job and ship kit if they do this.

You can check my stats certainly didnt make billions from those missions. Not even close. In fact just made my first billion in assets last week.

Id say i made about 300mil from them over the course of a few months. But yeah, why not just throw another generalised snide remark on top of the last one.

The repitition of the guardian sites shows a lack of vision from FDev. People here have already come up with what looks like more interesting ways this could have been done.

Bit baffling that after all this time they think something like this being introduced will be fine with players.

Cam down young padawan, am in complete agreement that the implementation is pants. I just don't bother with it, others should do the same.. They will eventually get the msg

Imho I think this Guardian stuff grind is just the straw that broke the camel's back.
People have been complaining about the large number of grinds in ED for a long time.
Instead of listening to the community FD is still setting almost every new addition to the game behind a grind wall.

Why?

Would it realy be true that this is the only way they can think of when introducing new additions?
Is it realy so that they think that those "grinds" are engaging gameplay?
Are they realy following a strict path without considering change, no matter how people respond?

Statements like " we don't want to waste your time" followed by another introduction of, yet again, a grind doesn't hold much credibility imo.

I think that this umpteenth time they introduce a grind has made people go over the edge and start to get enough of this nonsense.
I love playing ED, still do, because it's still fun.
There's no way though that I will submit to these grinds and if FD keeps following this path they'll eventually take the fun out of playing at all.
The result is obvious I believe.

You know, somebody at FDEV should have actually done that before the stuff was even released.

If I were the head of game design, and the development team came with this concept for unlocking the guardian modules, I would ask them if someone unlocked them all, before I would give the okay to put it into the update.

If they then told me that would take way to much time and was boring and repetitive, I ask them, why would you want the player to suffer through that.

Gosh, I spend so much time focused on powerplay, it blows my mind that there's anyone doing this thargoid/guardian stuff. I don't think I could stay focused on elite with out the community aspects of the game. Need those camaraderies/rivalries or the rest of it is too shallow.
