If someone from Fdev streams themselves unlocking all the Guardian tech. I will eat my eye patch.

Regarding people who stop playing because things like Guardians are a grind, I'm assuming you are also bored with the 'core' game as well, correct? Because if you loved the game back before Engineers and Thargoids, that game is still there (assuming you PvE and not PvP). You can still trade, explore, bounty hunt, run missions, buy new ships, etc. without ever engineering a module or visiting a Guardian site. I know, because that was basically me before 3.0 dropped!

I see the Thargoid war like I see most wars IRL - I read about it in the headlines and see footage on the 'news' (OA's videos), but I'm not actively involved except doing things like rescue missions and such. I'm not saying this to take away from OP, because I agree with him completely, but on other hand, ED is like a buffet, and you don't have to sample everything that's spread out on the table. Do what you like and ignore the rest.

@Old Duck

It doesn't really apply to me since I still play Elite, but I can definitely see why people would stop playing instead of keep doing the stuff we could since 2014.

It's been a long time and let's be honest, those 'core' activities haven't really changed at all. It's no surprise people would get bored eventually. Despite numerous mission board reworks it's basically still "Get me X tons of Y" or "Go to X and kill Y ships".

I was really hoping the "personal narrative" for Beyond would involve missions, not grinding blueprints to unlock stuff.

I had the misfortune to say something like that on the other thread. I wouldn't bother if I were you.

I'm still waiting for the focused forums for Squadrons, Exploration and mining mechanics which were meant to be out a few weeks after 3.0 went live.

You mean seperate forums for each topic?

That would be if they could do stuff on time but they've proved they can't many times. I said it would be 2 years of content at FDevs pace and not one year.

Does anyone actually think FDev can add in all the missing content we've been asking for in one year?

Apart from 3.0 that came out earlier then most of us thought it would.

... in any thread? It seems FDev has disappeared from the ED forums. Are they all partying in Dino Land these days?
Actually Brett has posted in several threads over the past couple of days. Just not in any of the threads on this topic (aside from meaningless off-topic crap).

And look how that turned out...

Yup, about 98% of it perfectly fine. A few mission types not working as intended and a few modules, not exactly much to worry about is it, pretty much standard as many other MMO's out there. But the main parts which are the trade tools and the engineers seem to be working pretty much perfectly, well they have been for me anyway.
