IL-2 Sturmovik Squadrons

IL-2 BoS is currently £14 on Steam.

Think I should pick it up...

Erm guys. If I buy this I'll be wanting to get involved in the multiplayer scene. Anything I should know?
Depends what you want, there are clans you can join for weekly sessions, In my group we play Tanks every week, some of the flyboys do the same, sometime we got joint sessions, or there are the drop in drop out MP servers.

you can start here :)

Cliffs of Dover it was.
Just checked Steam and the new version is available in my library.
Yeah CoD is not a part of the great battles series, so you can only play that game as an isolated game.
The great battle series is BoS and all the rest in that series including FC and TC.

If anyone here play IL2 TC and would like to play in a group of “Adults” pretending to be tank commanders in WW2 this is an opportunity for you!

You can be Russian or German it’s up to you, we already got a mixed group
Group language is English however outburst in German “occurs” is allowed adds immersion 😉🥳 and Russian over the comms orderin* more vodka is also heard off at the eFront.

Head over to IL2 forums tank section and get started.
My tag there is SCG_Slater

Battle of Bodenplatte and Flying Circus now officially released, along with the Tank Crew campaigns.

Hunting for German sausage on the Flying Circus map:
150020

150019

Still playing RoF because of the early war aircraft, overall content, a plethora of user made skins, mods and add-ons... plus a complete campaign mode via Pat Wilson's excellent campaign generator. Still loving it...

Setting flying circus so late in the war with merely a few hand picked aircraft still puts me off buying in...64 bit engine or not...when and if it reaches the heights of RoF...I'll consider it.

Had a combined arms session yesterday, it was great, Luftwaffe had a rough time, on the ground our tigers smashed through the enemy lines and cleaned the area for AA, if there are pilots out there who want to join, go to the IL2 forums and to the SCG missions Sunday’s.

Its looking better and better

Dear friends,

The year 2020 is here in full force. Let's hope that the new decade will bring good changes to our world. We in the IL-2 Sturmovik team are beginning the work on the new project, Battle of Normandy. For instance, the production of 3D models for several new planes has started already. We're researching the possibility of moving the rendering engine to Deferred Shading tech. The map team has begun the research of the new map. We're making design documents on new buildings, ground vehicles, ships and motorboats.

We're continuing our approach of improving our sim constantly - the incoming update 4.004 will bring many improvements for our already released projects. It will also add the new tank for Tank Crew - Pz.Kpfw.V Ausf.D "Panther" - and additional airfields and visually improved banks of the countless rivers and canals on the Rheinland map.

Battle for Stalingrad is now at 75% discount in steam. VR support and all, been a while I wanted to try a classic flight sim in my HP Reverb, so this is in the bag now! :D

Yup. Also available on the IL-2 website, and unless you have a good reason to use Steam, better to purchase there, since the money all goes to the developers rather than to Valve. Lots of other discounts too, including Flying Circus at $ 39.99, for anyone who fancies a bit of WWI air combat.
