ILS docking

Is there a way to do full ILS instrument only docking? I'm able to use the compass and get right above my landing spot almost perfectly even when I'm hundreds of meters high in altitude on a planet. The only thing I struggle with is getting the correct heading angle. Is there some navigation aid that lets us know the proper heading angle we should be when landing?

The tool you're looking for is EDISON which provides both proper compass heading and attitude adjustment guidance via voice and screen overlay.

You still have to pilot the ship so while it's a useful tool, it is by no means an Autopilot.

However, after you do a few dozen landings on planets, you'll generally find that your piloting skills will take over and you won't need EDISON. Where EDISON really shines is in managing personal waypoints that are not necessarily visible from greater than 10-20LS from the planetary surface. I use it to mark areas that I may have noted as being photo-worthy and may want to visit later on.
