I'm confused

Ok, so since the last update all I have been hearing from console players I game with is how crime and punishment is going to kill any and all PvP in the game. It is going to kill power play and how frontier is trying to kill their game and just make it a space exploration game. Also the money grind Ohhh the money grind. So here is why I am confused. How is crime and punishment going to kill PvP and power play? Second, what do people want from a money payout perspective that would make people happy with out giving away the farm so to speak? I do feel sometimes the pay out's for some missions are a bit low. But even with that being said, I looked at my in game starts it said I have had almost 5 weeks in game. I have played off and on since horizons. Total assets at this point is over 600million being credit poor right now at 25million in liquid assets. That's 715,000 credits and hour over 5 weeks in rought rounded numbers if my math is right. I think that's not bad I have done almost no credit grinding. So with that into perspective are credits really a problem in elite or is it fast credits? Instant gratification that so many of us need to feel some sort of accomplishment based on the norms of the real world expectations. So as I feel the gold rush concept is a good one for some fast credits to help off set some of the costs of the higher priced ships and moduals . I thinks it's something that Elite should embrace and exploit as a game play mechanic. But all this is just my humble naive oppion.

i think allot more people are willing to do PVP after 3.0, with the new engineering system it somewhat levels the playing field.

The only problem with the crime/punishment system RE PVP is that if you commit a crime, the station will no longer trade with you.
This simply means that you can't just camp at a station and troll people trying to go about there lawful business.
Sounds pretty good system.
Better than station just blowing you apart for a speeding fine.

I mean I was listening to a player last night saying he can not do and BGS work because the crime and punishment system will not let him becUse what ever he dose he invites a fine that he said he could not get rid of.

The fines/bounties incurred from aggressive powerplay is only from the faction/s you are undermining. It kind of makes sense that if you are destroying cargo ships employed by a faction, they probably don’t want you docking at their station to rearm your weapons.

Now it is a good idea to pick a system belonging to your power to use as a base of operations, then fly into the hostile system you want to undermine, and fly back when you need to refit/rearm. Anarchy systems would also work for this.

To clear any fines and bounties you have to go to a station that has an Interstellar factors service, now incredibly easy to find thanks to the new services filter on the galaxy map.

So your friend saying that powerplay/BGS is dead is probably from lack of understanding of the new system. Which is mildly understandable since it isn’t exactly explained in-game.

BGS work is always best done via the BGS, basically indirect PvP. Direct PvP is not a good method for BGS work.

ATR has made forcing retreats into a money sink. Forcing out low influence factions with no assets can really only be done by attacking their vessels. This in turn triggers instadeath from ATR. Considering that PMFs require you to clear space, it's gonna be increasingly harder to get them implemented. Not that FDev will ever bother to update us on that so in turn not a problem
