I'm heading home

I have also turned the nose towards my route home.

Currently 34k ly out and just at the base of the Sagittarius arm, which I will be tracking back home.

3528 systems scanned, some with a honk, some with more.

I'm going to be selling data for a while

Just a heads up : I sold over 2600 system's worth of data, each page(of 20 systems) took between 45-75 seconds :(
(just over 2 hours for me, probably 2 and a half)

you're looking at over 4 hours if you get close to 5000 systems

Allitnil holds the record. Took him 5 days to sell his data.

No, it was a long time after the sell page was available. But it quickly became apparent that selling 20 reasonably complex systems at a time combined with the large amount of systems I had to sell was causing time outs & crashes which resulted in losing first discovered tags. So I switched to selling the higher value systems individually & only using the sell page option when I was left with 20 lower value systems on the page.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm not looking forward to selling one bit.

Based on where I am, my planned route, my jump range, I think I will clear 6k systems easily.

I passed 3301 systems on Wednesday night. Currently on 3306.
My current project is trying to come up with an elegant solution to the "Traveling Salesman Problem" and hit as many XTE and OGLE systems as I can. The problem is they're randomly strewn across the galaxy. I'll be heading homeward in the sense that I'll be decreasing my distance to Sol, but I won't be back in time for 1.3. Maybe not even 1.4. ;)

I'm keeping accurate track of my travel distance and interesting systems so I approximately know my data's credit worth.

Noob question:
How do you keep track of the number of systems scanned, is there something I've missed ?

It's a fair question.
Right menu > switch left/right until you get to the list of earnings, then scroll all the way to the bottom. Your total systems visited is listed there along with the level 2 and 3 scans you've sold.

I keep a spreadsheet of my jump distances and interesting things, so that's how I keep track of how many systems. I look at my row number and minus 3 (headers at the top).

I've been using a combination of my own excel spreadsheet to keep track of interesting discoveries and the utility EDDiscovery available here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=138155

Oh and If you need a hand getting it running just drop me a pm. I had a few issues with error messages coming up but it works flawlessly now.

You need to enable verbose logging on the netlogs for it to work, but most of the info is in that post.

Before I started on my exploration journey I'd visited 243 systems. I'm only just over 1k ly out on a 16k ly round trip and I've only increased the scans by almost 200. I'm using economic routing so I don't miss anything. It's slower going but more systems = more credits = more first discoveries and potential to find interesting stuff!!

EDIT: lol Gelegeus you beat me to it!

Traveller_GG - your approach to exploring is not mine :( If credits are what you are after then maybe trading would be a better option :(

Having said that - exploring is all things to all men - so good luck in all your goals and a huge pat on the back for just being out there.

Respect for being out in the void :)

They're not as such. Primary goal was to get to Sag A* which rapidly became "get to that cluster of Black Holes I stumbled across" which changed BACK to "get to SagA*", which THEN became I want another ship to make bigger jumps to go further out :)

So..... I'm heading back 'cos I'm explored out for now (with 23KLY to get home...) and I'm going to go trading specifically so I can get my shiny 'conda to get back out and head rinmwards. I'm hoping to find a rope with bells on.

You can keep track of the systems visited, it's on your stats panel. It's fair to assume that explorers honk every system meaning it is a basic scan.
Anything more you need to have an out of game tool for.

Thanks Guys, I was meaning the systems on my current trip, I knew that I'd been paid for a couple of hundred systems and now I think I've excelled that X10.

I was under the impression that of the systems I'm First to scan would mean there is a notifier when I cash in - GG to you for keeping a Tally on the systems you've visited though.
