I'm sorry you had those problems but I haven't. I played with a friend a couple of times before we even tried Wings and never had those kinds of issues. We're kind of going off on a tangent though. All I said was the scenes in the advert are possible. They are not false, but they can be seen as misrepresentative of the type of game it is which leads to some players having misplaced expectations about what might or might not be considered "basic" content or mechanics.
And to get further back on track, even though "more content" is welcome, pretty much by everyone (some type of content more than others) not having it does not mean the game is boring, even if it is boring to you.

Just trying to outline why the game will lose people, everytime there is a big release like 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and there is nothing for them the more players will just stop logging. Those sort of technical issues frankly I can't remember the last time I had basically features not included. That's why there is no content, they have been working on the basics first.
No content? Spaceships, parts for spaceships, (skins for spaceships), different types of space station for the spaceship to dock in, stars, planets, moons, nebulae, black holes, factions, commodities to trade, rare goods to trade, asteroids you can mine, pirates you can hunt, traders you can rob, what else have I forgotten?
From what I can see there are 3 kinds of people here.
:
1.those like you, who may or may not embrace something, but are close to the neutral zone
2. those who want thig game to be more
3. those who tell you to gay play something else....cuz thats how you solve problems...
And the last 2 types are much more common

All the others...i have skype for. What about being able to join groups. You can't deny thats the thing that brings the most interaction

Yeah im on mobile, so i had to stretch it down to 3. It would be more like 10 or so, the point is: people just waste time, life of their monitor, and electrons every time they tell me to flint off to some other game, just cuz I express my opinion on this game having very low human interactions

Do my skype groups actually have even a small impact on the game. We are still aimlessly running around in this game after we hit Anaconda(assuming we dont like exploring like I do. If you do like exploring, kudos to you, but i cant stand it)

On a serious note, this game is very very good and i dont regret a single penny spent on it, but just a small factions system and i delete my forums account, thats all I need and I'll be playing 24/7 and never whine over anything again...pls FD ? make it MMO, Not just MO?
You were the one who dismissed in-game interaction tools for Skype. How would a group chat option have any impact on the game more than Skype? But I have no issue with a group chat channel, I just think it's something to dismiss the whole game as having no content over (this is that thread not the guild thread

Maybe they just have an opinion that you don't agree with. Just because someone tells you you might be better off playing something else. Doesn't mean they are being nasty and don't see a problem. Maybe it's obvious your not enjoying yourself and from past experience with the franchise, they don't feel that is likely to change.
There's been games I really liked and wanted to love but eventually left. War Thunder is one of those games. Much better dogfighting than Elite if you play with a joystick... BUT they need to fix joystick or have an option to seperate joystick players from mouse aim players so people with controllers can play in an even playing field so you can compete fairly and judge who has the better skills.
Sometimes a game just isn't going to work for you. Devs can't cater to everyone, they have a target demographic of players and try and attract a broader range from outside of it. But it's not going to work for everyone and trying to make it fit will probably ruin it for their core playerbase.
Maybe your playing the wrong game. Maybe you just need to take a break and come back later. This game is very much a work in progress and might be another year or two before it really hits the ground running.

If it wasn't for wings aka team deathmatch in space there wouldn't be much of a player base left at all.
People logging in and out of the game to force big ships to spawn, I'd be ashamed to be part of the design team for that single reason alone.

I was an M1A1 tanker for a decade. Cannot get into WoT or War Thunder.
When I get really bored in E: D I just whip out my handy list of whinging players from these forums and go hunting.
Luckily I don't too bored in-game, there's always working towards my dream 'Conda (need about 500,000,000 credits), doing some community events, RES, CZ, rank progression missions, system permits to be gained, stamping my name on systems 1000+ly out, etc.
There's still a lot to do, even for a "bored" player.
When I get really bored in E: D I just whip out my handy list of whinging players from these forums and go hunting.

OT I know but I totally agree here (maybe not better DF than elite but different and certainly on a par
). I love WT but I cant justify using my flight stick as it is so damn hard compared to KB and mouse.I know we have simulation mode, but persoanlly i would love a half way house where we are locked into cockpit view and use a stick, but have the lives etc or arcade mode. Even if it is only limited events rather than all the tiime. I still love the game however. warts and all.
