OP - as its a network game there is always the possibility that there could be something funky going on with lag or networking or any other number of issues.

As someone advised earlier, just file a report and let FD look into it.

something to think about - My wife works in the pharmaceuticals industry and deals a lot with change of packaging.

Often if a product has been giving a new style of container or even simply a change of design colour the company will receive complaints that the product doesn't work so well anymore. This is despite the actual product being identical and unchanged within the packaging.

It's pretty clear that there is a problem with hacks in the game but it's worth remembering that human perceptions can be fickle. You may have fired on a guy with cheats running - but as you pointed out maybe not

short answer - just because you heard the story of the bogeymen doesn't mean he's hiding around every corner.

Edit - reporting suspicious behaviour is probably a good thing too

If they die we know they weren't actually powerful witches. That doesn't mean they weren't going to be someday.

Report it and let Frontier look at it, if you like. If they don't find any evidence of cheating, and I suspect they won't, they can pass it on as a bug.

I rarely disagree with Morbad, but IMO it's a waste of time. I only report concrete bugs. PvPer's have been reporting CLogging and various exploits for years and nothing has ever been done. Due to the nature of the networking implementation (P2P based without server validation) there will always be ways to cheat and without a complete rewrite FD can never prevent this. They can simply plug one hole at a time while new ones appear all the time.

Just play and try to enjoy. Who GAF if some cheater blows you up. Rebuys are basically free anyway in the current economy.

I know this is easy to say as a console player but I'd feel the same way on PC. Trying to stop all the garbage tier play in this game is just fighting the tide.
