Might be a daft question but....What about using the back pack jet pack...if the persons body is oriented (if possible) at the right angle to the planet, would the jet pack work in propelling the person down toward the planet surface?....in other words the person would have to be 'head down' towards the planets surface?
Side note
, this does get me thinking that it might be a cool feature to have a more ambidextrous 'jet pack', in the sense it would enable a person to have more control of movement in possibly all axis's while in free space or on / in a planets atmosphere. etc.
