I'm sure I'm not the only one disturbed by the advertisements for tree grubs in concourses.

I'll eat generally anything...but I draw the line at bugs. I mean, I would have to be starving and the only other alternative would have to be a "pizza" from Dominos. (As a NYer, don't get me started on the quality of pizza outside of NY! :)).

As an aside, I love the ads in the concourses. Those are an example of how parts of Odyssey show somebody really tried their best for the game. Those and the health side effects of taking an Apex shuttle always make me laugh,
Well, I just did some research and found that, in Italy, they eat pizza with (GASP!) a knife and fork, maybe picking it up when the slice gets small. Interesting...

Deep fried and coated in a variety of flavouring, they're quite crunchy on the outside with a slightly soft and chewy interior.

I like the peanut flavoured ones myself (y)

Eh, I'll try just about anything once.
Fried palm weevils taste pretty much like bacon and are perfectly fine to eat so long as you can keep what live ones look like out of mind.

It sounds like easy stuff to mass-produce for spacefaring humans nutrition. Even today you already have insects on the menu in certain parts of the world.

You wouldn't be from Chicago, would you?:D

Laughs uncontrollably in actual Italian pizza. :ROFLMAO:

Back on topic a bit, insects have just a far better protein/costs ratio. The idea of eating grubs and larvae instead of a good steak makes me a bit sick, but even I am fully aware than the difference between a chunky, disgusting grasshopper and those delicious cocktail shrimps is mostly just a cultural one. If we want to keep being 10 billions+ people on this rock, we are going to eat the largest available source of proteins, there's hardly any getting around this. Who knows what will be socially acceptable to eat a thousand years from now. Just a few centuries ago, tomatoes were a decorative plant!

The locusts aren't bad, but tree grubs, eww. I'll admit I'm quite squeamish about insects, especially the soft kinds, but seeing it advertised as food takes it to another level of gross.
It is a nod to the original game........... there every system was home to a weird and wonderful organism. It was dropped for the most part for the subsequent games.

eg

PS I take it you dont fancy these? (i wont lie...... the thought turns my stomach as well... but long term i think these as well as other insect proteins are only going to get more common as they are far better for the environment than meat. (given a choice it would push me to vegetarianism)

Tomatoes also magically went from horrible tasting to tasty. If insects magically start tasting like waigu....
