Immersion breaking? or video card breaking?

So yeah, this just happened while warping somewhere:

Either I fell into some Kaleidoscope dimension for a moment.. or somethings going wrong here... Having it come whooshing at me in spinning nauseating 60fps [ok ok 52.2] didnt help my tummie one bit.

Getting better as I leave the warp...

GAH!! It followed me offline! unplug!! UNPLUG!!

[so yeahhh.. obviously ticketed]

i had something similar in the beta (although it was only scrambling the graphics of ships) my guess is that it was caused by corruption of the files client side as going to Options/verify game files on the launcher sorted it out.

I told you to take a right at the witch head nebula, Jesus Calaban you never listen to me. Now here we are stuck in this stupid disco dimension and you still won't stop and ask for directions.

I had simillar artifacts after an <alt> + <tab>. I suspected my graphics driver since I was using a Nvidia beta driver and a manual downsampling. Since the last Gamma version this never happend again on my machine.

Looks like you got interdicted so hard your GPU took some damage. I would test whether it is just this game, or if it is affecting other games.

Then I would Re-install drivers.

Pray to the GPU gods

and Test.

If you have another known good GPU you could try that out for comparison sake.

Might be time for a replacement.

perhaps try some kind of temperature-monitoring utility (i use MSI Afterburner) - overheating can cause that effect. if it is temperature related, you can often reduce the heat by using vsync, if you aren't already

---> oh - and add overclocking to the list of possible causes. if the gfx ram is trying to run too fast, perhaps you'll get similar artifacts. i once bought an Asus 8800GT that was like that straight out of the box. had to underclock it slightly, then it was fine
