Imperal Courier: 1,363 jumps. Six weeks. 7 ELWs. 32m in data.

I thought the same, I'm currently on a slow jaunt back from Go West via the core and occasionally drop into a Neutron system. I have found all types of planets orbiting either the Neutron or a secondary star.

Some are well worth a visit.

I'm going to have try in a courier when I get back. It's sounds like an interesting ship. Good luck getting the 2%

I guarantee you would have a big surprise.
The numerous neutron systems I have visited have by far, much more interesting discoveries than normal space.
It is definitely worth a look.

I Support you
in neutron stars i ve found G class Stars with Earth like worlds and water worlds.... only in a 2000 sl away of the neutron...

How was the Courier for exploring, and how did it compare with other ships you've explored in, if any?

For messing about in rings and canyons there's nothing better. I'll never get bored with that noise or that canopy. Don't expect to get anywhere quickly

I have a grade 5 fsd'd courier that will jump ~35ly with a lightweight combat loadout and srv. Only upgrade I'd want to add is clean drives to help with scooping.

Thankfully ranking to get the grade 5 fsd is relatively painless.

Edit: Oh and an almost huge congrats cmdr, that last little bit won't take long [up]

Always nice to hear of successful exploration sorties - my recent 18KLy crash'n'burn will make my current return-to-port moment all the sweeter.

Every activity in the game has merit, obviously (and more are needed), but for me the real soul of Elite will always be exploration and journeys that take weeks or months.

This inspired me to take my courier out for some exploration. I've never really tried long range exploration, but the first thousand LY wasn't near as bad as I imagined. She's a fun ship to fly. I wish I could have a 4a scoop though.

I went up. I went down. I made 1.4 million.

I am Elite.

It's not too bad. Just turn shields and non essentials off. Stop and scan when you arrive, and then scoop around the sun when you leave

Congrats! And on a slightly different note I see you got an achievo for going to colonia and Im like "of course they would add that after I've already been there"

Is it not retrospective? That's a bit harsh. Mind you, it's a lot easier to get to Sag A* with the waypoint stations and route filter you have now since I went, so swings and roundabouts I suppose

Probably has something to do with coding, Colonia wasn't called Colonia in 2.1 (filed a report for the devs nonetheless)
