Imperial Cutter Engine color effects

I'm thinking of picking up a color. I'd prefer not to dump my wallet on the frontier store.
Does anyone have pictures of the engine color effects to help me slim down my choice?


(Matching ship color isn't a poblem for me....I already dumped my wallet once or twice)

Ooh...I'm fond of the yellow. Anyone have blue? (unless standard is blue and there isn't a more blue blue detailing)

I have blue, green and purple engine colors. The purple is on my Cutter and it looks cool...sry no screenie, though. The engine colors and weapon colors are a great effect...use them on your fighters too! Though the white seems to be redundant.

Those are the two screenshots I have on hand. But I'm flying my Cutter as I type this and I have all the engine colours, so I'm happy to get pictures of any others.

Has anyone else noticed that these colors don't seem to be created equal? For example, the blue looks really wimpy compared to the yellow, almost like there is too much brightness in the center of some of them, and the streams themselves also appear to be less as a whole.

I don't have any screens to post, but my Gutamaya Girls all use the Midnight paint with the blue engines/weapons with the exception of the Courier, who is trying the purple on for size.

Yeah it seems some aren't as vibrant of a color for their spectrum as they should be. Same with the lazers. I personally abide that Green should be weapons, not out of any fandom or anything (cause i know people like it cause Star Wars), but because few things in space glow green so when hitting ships (especially cannons / frags / mcs / pa's) the particle effects are easier to follow even in bright conditions (bright white stars for example), since they contrast well.

For Thrusters I like red or blue or green.

For me, the blue is just right. A lot of what FD calls 'blue' in it's paintjobs, etc.. is really teal or cyan, so it was nice to get something actually blue for a change.

My Cutter runs the midnight black skin and the blue weapons and engines. It looks really good. I also run the blue on my Python, with a blue skin. That looks really slick when it's landing to pick up my SRV.

I bought all of the colors though. Might not use all of them right away, but I have a whole fleet of ships at my home station to monkey around with, so they'll get used, eventually. :D

Yeah, I noticed this as well when I was testing them with various ships. I think some of them require a bit of tuning. For instance I wanted to use red on my FAS, but the glare was just too much to handle.

Yellow, Green and Cyan I find the most difficult to put in use. I can't speak for Pink and White as I don't have them yet, but so far from what I've seen they look good. I do like the Orange, Blue and Purple though, I think they look great. ;)
