So they rolled this out but they are STILL dragging their knuckles on the Type 10.

Typical FDev. Probably deciding every way they are going to nerf it.

Wow, the wing sits right on top of the decal. How was that missed by QA before going live? :S

I'm usually supportive of Frontier, you know that by now, but here I have to agree.

To be perfectly honest, when we have floating buildings at premier content sites (like the Dynasty bases), one does start to wonder exactly what QA does at Frontier, because seeing how things look doesn't seem to be on the list.

These things are a premium product, and as such, they should be error-free. There are too many paint jobs and ship kits on too many ships that have issues, and they really need to be fixed.

I don't buy a brand new car and just accept that it has some scratches on it.

I am on the fence with the Cutter kit, but I do see myself buying it at some point.

Overall I'm definitely happy with how the Cutter's kit turned out.

It also compliments the ship's lines quite well from underneath, and the parts having lights is a nice touch:

Well I must admit, was never expecting something good for the cutter from the beginning. Kinda hard to do "Body Kits" on a ship that's pretty much round everywhere you look but I guess people got their kit after all and I think FD did their best with what they had lol

I'm into that T-6 Kit though, it's kind of like putting spoilers and rims onto a Corolla, you don't really need them and they look Ricey but there's something so good about looking bad.

So they rolled this out but they are STILL dragging their knuckles on the Type 10.

Because designing pieces of Geometry for an already existing ship is perfectly comparable to making one from Scratch...

Loving the wide variety of opinions, hah.

Personally, none of it really calls to me as a must have. I've felt this way about most the kits. I just like the originals as they are.

Oh dear oh dear...did some let their child play with the ship kits again, the cutter is bad diddnt even look at the T6's after feeling at a loss once I saw the cutters.

Yes I know if I dont like it I dont have to buy it...rest assured that's never going to happen.

Edit: Well the T6's makes it look like a tub with bits stuck onto it to make it look less like a tub. Seven quid each for that, someone is having a laugh somewhere.

Overall I'm happy with the kit, but it does have it's weak points. Some pieces IMO look overblown and out of place. Then the clipping of some pieces that make the ship wider and longer than the pad and taller than the hangar. Worst though are the pieces that cover either decals or ship registration number. Really FD ? Please revise that and move the decal/registration positions out of the way of the kit pieces. That is really sloppy QA.

Man I have no self control at all... oh well, now I have the ship kit for the Cutter! And a new paint pack for the Python. And the Clipper. And the FDL. And some sunglasses. A new flightsuit. A new engine colour. Oh and some decals.... damn you FDev! ;)

Although I understand why people don't like the kit (and I have a lot to say about it myself). Why do you people have to be so rude about it ? Obviously the kit was done by professionals with the intent of making something appealing. Have you never heard of constructive criticism ?

Instead of saying: "oh wow, who let the kid near blender again", try: "I don't think this kit looks good because of x, however I really like the y part of it, I'd like to see that more"

What I have to say about it is: Several parts hide both types of nameplates and a few parts could have been integrated better. The clipping is obviously an issue but considering the size of the ship to begin with I don't see how FDEV could have made an interesting kit without this being the case. Of course this quite immersion breaking which I personally feel is an important part of the game. But the only instance of this being the hangar in third person view, I think I'll live.

That being said getting away from the "matte" texture used on previous kits in favor of more details on the texture and different materials (reflective glass for example) including lights is nice. And despite its shortcomings the kit was interesting enough for me to purchase it and I have no regret. I can finally break the smooth bloated front of it and add some "relief" to the top of it without having to wait for the heat sink fins to deploy.

The thing with most ship kit screenshots I've seen so far is,
every single one of them uses all slots for kits.

Try using only the rear arc piece on the cutter, actually looks quite decent if you don't apply spoilers everywhere.
