Improving rank

HI,
How do you go about improving your rank? I have read elsewhere in the forums that you need to do a federal navy job or look for opportunity to improve rank. I have been looking for this type of job for over a week and found nothing. My current ranking with the Federation is Status: Cordial and 22%. My rank is: none with 100%.
I have over 19 million in credits and an ASP Explorer. I would like to upgrade to a Federal Dropship. I like doing dogfights and want something that would be good in battle.
Any help you can provide to help me get there would be appreciated.

Thanks for the link. However, the info is dated. He is way back in 1.05. I am currently in 2.3.11. But I will try some of the stuff that he has said.

At any point in time there is a station/system being particularly generous with Fed/Empire missions good for building naval rank, e.g. Draconis 17 has been a longtime favorite for Fed rank.

You stack the missions as much as you can (take the 2 best then board flip (i.e. exit/start as solo / group / open) until it looks good and top up with as many as you got, then do them and rinse/repeat.

Basically you repeat the same missions until your eyes bleed and you'll be King/Admiral like me.

FYI the best way to find where you shoukd be ranking up is google "elite dangerous empire rank grind".
