The Combat Rank, the only true test of endurance left in ED. There are no real shortcuts, no exploits, no gold rushes available, you still have to get your butt out there and kill 1,000's of ships, all the while watching your rank score creep up with the speed of a comatose snail. This thread isn't about some new way I have found to get Combat Elite in 3 hours and 11 and one half seconds from start. It is more an idea of making the climb up the ladder of ED success a little more interesting, and above all FUN.
The one undeniable fact is that the ED engine doesn't care what ship you are in whilst you are single handedly taking on the hordes of wanted ships from every corner of the galaxy. As far as I have been able to ascertain, the only two deciding factors is your Combat Rank and the target's Combat Rank - nothing more. You could be in a stock Hauler or a G5 everything turret sprouting Corvette, the kills still go up at exactly the same rate. The proposal I am about to put before you addresses this anomaly and hopefully encourages more diversity in the use of ships within the game.
The Proposal:
Each ship in the game is given a multiplier by FD (we don't need to know it to be honest). This multiplier could be based on:
Please note that I am not advocating that the current rank progression is slowed down for anyone, just slightly increased for those willing to take on more risk. Likewise, I see no need to change the bounties collected, this proposal only concerns one's progression up the Combat Rank ladder.

- Or a combination of all three.
