In love with the Anaconda cockpit

I don't really know, it might not be in the game as is (its a concept picture).

Here is the current model for the ship

There is an aerodynamic-ish bulge above the bridge, no idea though whether it has a connection to what we are talking about...It looks more like a scoop of sorts...:D

The color scheme of the GUI is definitely something I want to be able to change, in fact I posted a mock up of that a while back. Not sure if we will link the color to the brand though, maybe more an option for the player.

Custom HUD colours could also be something sold (yeah, i know, highly ephemeral selling some rgb values, but after all, all the software we sell just comes down to some hex codes) via cheap microtransactions. The walnut dashboard render would be a bit further up the price range.

I really can't see what is so special about the Anaconda and why everyone appears to want it. Granted its a nice big ship but the ship I really want is that Lakon. Roll on May 30th. I'll just have to practice my skills till then.

Of course you can't see, when It's obviously a personal preference :)
I just like seeing that big hull from the bridge.

The view of the front of the space ship reminds me these huge container ships on the oceans.

Yes, that too!

It is at least spacious enough to accommodate some running around, when things goes very wrong. Never underestimate the need for panic space.

Anacondas are meant to be big, boxy, chunky cargo haulers! Not sexy yachts of the skies! Why are Frontier doing this to us! They're ruining Elite's legacy. :D

Errr not really... ;)

Elite Manual said:
In trader parlance, the Anaconda is built as strong as a rogue asteroid and steers like one.

The emphasis was always on handling by comparison to the faster ships. The Anaconda has always had that knife shape going on.

It's a Faulcon de lacy, just not as beat up as the sidewinder. Head look should give you a decent view but I'll see if we can get some renders of the whole bridge into one of the newsletters.

Indeed. Originally RimLiner Galactic back in 2856. A lot of the smaller companies were bought out by Faulcon, just like Cowell and MgRath.

Please make this happen. Orange is sooooooo last alpha. :)

The current plan is that the gui design and layout will remain consistent with each ship as the HUD software is provided by the Pilots Federation not he ship manufacturer.... It's also a huge time saver. Time permitting I would love to add some cosmetic tweaks.

I was thinking about this a bit last night. It would be nice if the Pilots Federation UI was similar to Android, by which I mean if you buy a basic ship (pirate maybe?) you get the standard UI, just like if you buy a Nexus you get pure Android.

Then different manufacturers put their own spin on it (Samsung Sense , HTC TouchWiz ~ Falcon de Lacey Falcon UI, Federation BigBrother UI), and then the more advanced users can 'root' the UI and make if fully customizable, maybe by paying a dodgy hacker to unlock it for you.

Are the three round objects to the left in the original image the fan and air-blower controls? And there seems to be a floppy disk drive slot on the left hand chair panel?!?

I see .. a USB, a Smart media, and what I think to be a HDMI port on the top right of the left side panel.

I bet every time you enter a coriolis your butt will clench the seat waiting to hear her grind on the side of the docking bay entrance.

Looks really great! You guys should also check ou the "new ships" vid posted in another thread, to get the whole picture.

On the UI: So, all ships will have the same OS, so to speak? Hm... but the cockpit will change based on manufacturer, no? So we will see an Anaconda with a different one in the final game?

So, does the anaconda have turret mounts? How do you use them?

Yep, lots. To see this, and a nice view of the bridge (+ the Eagle and Lakon 9), check out Brumster100's video. I've linked it, and summarized the specs he mentioned for each ship here.
