In Memorandum?

Hi,

The Frontier page directed me here as a support/dev contact channel (well, along with Reddit and Twitter).

My name is Jarrad, commander name Hugford Blops, my apologies if this story is a bit long winded but hopefully it makes sense in the end.

A friend of mine, Tom - commander name Kiryk - played Elite Dangerous on PC and repeatedly told me I'd love it. Shortly after that it released on console and as Xbox was my preferred platform at the time I played on there. It was always an ongoing source of joeks that I should move to PC. Our secondary argument was that I could never be bothered with mining and he loved it. So I tried laser mining and called him wrong and boring until he explained I needed to do deep core mining. We kept at this back and forth for a couple of years.
I should add we played other things together; one or two games with cross platform play, and irl D&D).

In September of 2021 Tom lost his life to suicide, and since then I've taken up the console account migration to finally play on PC. I'm having a blast, but everytime I boot up the game I'm reminded of him and that we never got to play it together.

So I was writing to ask if there's any way I can open a dialogue with Support or Devs to discuss the possibility of having a space station named after him. In my mind I thought of an Orbis Starport style in a system with some mining belts, and an extraction economy (or refinery if that makes more sense). I don't know how much effort this takes for a developer to implement, but I'm willing to see if it's something I can afford to pay Frontier to have implemented. Something like "Kiryks Rest" sounds like a nice memorial where Tom would be chilling in space forever.

At some point I'll get the courage to finally heed his advice and give deep core mining a try too.

Thanks for reading.

Sorry to hear about your buddy, Devs/Cm's make this happen, it's not been that long since Sept 10th which was world suicide prevention day.
