As an additional pilot reference...
Outside the airlock of coriolis and orbis stations is a toaster rack (as they call it). Inside the short sides of the toaster rack are lit arrows which cycle and point inwards...

If the arrows would cycle AND point outwards on the exit side of the station it would compliment and further illustrate to commanders (especially newer commanders) as well as make logical sense and improve the docking/exiting experience.
I believe this must have been suggested before so credit should go to those who suggested it before me.
