Released to all ? I can see that. Rebalanced ? No. MK III is a multirole/smuggler, MK IV is a freighter. It carries as much as a Keelback, at half the price and better firepower when fully upgraded. Price is in T6 range. Yet Keelback and T6 are medium pad, MK IV is small. The MK IV is to the small pad what the Python is to the medium.

It's not that I want to fly the cobra MKIV particularly but I would love to see more ships in the game, old clunkers, new and flashy, anything for a bit more variety, even Cobra MK1's.
I don't care that they might be similar in capability to existing ships or not as good, I'd try to make them work for me regardless if I love the design. Anything is possible.

Actually: That's another thing that would add character... old vs new with visual cues.

Like you can buy last-years model, and the old ships will have some old design philosophy, and you'll get less in the way of cool stuff (good weapons placement, max module size) compared to other ships their mass; but more space-per-credit... or some such.

Why would anyone vote no on this? This ship is a sow's ear. Anything possible to help it should be done immediately.

Want me to send you some pics of my black imperial courier again?

It's OK mate, my tactical charcoal one is helping me through the pain. :D

But people do use it and enjoy it. I use the Mk IV quite extensively, and am quite fond of it as it is.

I wouldn't want to see any of the module slots taken away for better speed/maneuverability.

I suspect you're wasting your time mate. Some people just don't get it.

'Yeah, take away some of the internals to improve the speed and handling'. Ummm, yeah but that's a Cobra Mk3. So what they really want is for the Mk3 to have its hardpoints moved and an extra class 1 hardpoint added. Oh and the moon on a stick.

I have a Mk4 set up for surface salvage missions/search and rescue, material gathering and short-range exploration. It has a class 4A scoop, advanced discovery and detailed surface scanners, an SRV bay and 48 tons of cargo space, along with a pair of class 2 missile launchers and lasers in case I feel the need to take out defence turrets and skimmers around POIs before landing. Shielding is low and it's not going to be fighting much that can move around but in the role I built it for it's fantastic. That's without any engineer mods too, I'm going to go to town on it at some point and take it on a tour around the lot of them.

No it can't take down an Elite Anaconda. That's fine, I can use my FDL for that.

No it can't outrun an Eagle. No problem, I don't need to race Eagles in it.

No it can't fight its way out of being interdicted by an Elite FAS. Who cares, neither can my Type 9 but neither of them have ever lost their shields in an interdiction anyway because I submit and high wake when I'm not in a ship built to fight, usually not taking a single hit.

The Cobra MK4 doesn't need to have its internals crippled in order to make it something that it's not and was never designed to be. If people don't like it as it is, don't buy it and don't fly it. I've never fancied a T-7 which is why even with well over a billion in assets and 13 ships, I've still never flown one.

The Cobra Mk IV was never meant to be a super-pwnage combat ship for special snowflakes who happened to have the cash to pre-order Horizons, it's exactly what it is described as being - a larger and heavier Cobra which sacrifices some of the pants-on-fire performance of the MkIII for a more versatile set of internals. Embrace it people.

I saw someone describe it as being like a baby Python and it's a pretty apt description.
