In the power play view, have an option for "commander activity level"

So a lot of recent threads are saying ED is lacking in the MMO department. I agree, but overall, there are a lot more players in game than you think.

When commanders visit certain systems, a CMDR/h score counter should increase.

At less than 15 CMDRs per hour, the system is labeled "decreased activity". Above 15 CMDRs but below 50 per hour, the system is flagged as "normal activity". Anything above 50 CMDRs per hour is labeled as High activity.

Depending on the activity should also depend on services that the stations offer. Little to no activity will cause the station to make less income from refueling, repairs, rearms and outfitting - logically. These services will become put "on hold" or taken down completely until there are more commanders that enter the system. Refuel should always be a service, as with the bulletin board and universal cartographics.

CMDRs visiting should count as Unique commanders - no spam-jumping into the system and boosting the activity! The amount of missions completed should also vary income and popularity.

Feedback would be appreciated!

Note: players will be inclined to head to other High Activity systems, or low activity depending on whether they want more action or a more solo experience.

+Rep, but proposals like this were explored in the first 15 weeks of PowerPlay.

One of the main problems is that for some powers, any sort of "heat map" of CMDR activity is entirely "RED ALERT EVERYWHERE".

During the high stages of the Pegasi war, Kumo space was crawling with Empire CMDRs bashing away at them.
And Mahon sometimes receives more undermining than the entire Empire combined.

So yes, it would be nice to know where everyone is.
But:
1) It would have to be a logarithmic heat map. and
2) I think FDev weren't into the idea.

You CAN sort of get some information from the Traffic Report and the Top 5 Bounties for a particular system.
For example there was a recent BGS operation against a player group that was very public.
But often the commentators weren't the ones doing the work on the ground.
By traveling to the system and examining the Traffic Report and the Top 5 Bounties you can kinda work out who's doing what.

I kinda like that sort of fog-of-war. That sort of Intel should be hard to come by.
