Ship Builds & Load Outs Ships Incendiary Rounds

I was comparing ships in Coriolis and noticed in the weapons that incendiary rounds is part thermal and part kinetic damage. I was told it has no kinetic damage, it's all thermal. I'm wondering if they changed something or has it always been that way?

Both pages are dated April 19th 2019 so the information is current. Is this something that was changed recently or has it always been like that?
 
I crossed a threshold yesterday with my build by adding a c1 OC/Drag frag to my loadout. Now I take noticeable heat damage during combat. It doesnt cause malfunctions but it may if my opponent hits me with heat inducing special effects.

Yeah, that’s the catch. If you use efficient weapon on one of your guns it will keep all of your weapons cooler, that might do the trick, but no promises. I've tried reducing heat by using the thermal spread experimental effect on the power plant, thrusters and frame shift drive, but nothing I've tried so far works as well as a single efficient weapon. If some one knows of a more effective way to reduce thermal load, please tell me what it is! (Saying don’t use incendiary rounds or use a heat sink launcher doesn’t count.)


Armored powerplant w/thermal spread will do way more than a single efficient weapon, or any of those other mods.

I honestly can't answer that question with any degree of accuracy. I'm not sure anyone could, without having tested the same weapons and effects, in the past. Frontier doesn't willingly volunteer information either. But yes the info is indeed current.

+ 1. Even without thermal spread, G5 armored does wonders with heat issues.
 
After the updates I've noticed that I can now put weapons on my FDL that used to make it overheat badly. I don't know if the other ships are the same. I plan to test some of the other ships to see if this is true for them as well.
