Incoming Pod people Zombies?

The ones rescued from the pods probably aren't the ones we need to worry about
- they're either still in quarantine (Federation, Empire) or have been released into the community but are likely still under heavy surveillance (Alliance)
- it's possible that whatever treatment the Thargoids were using hadn't been applied to them yet so they're actually perfectly safe (as in, they are no danger to us; the mob with pitchforks is a big danger to them, unfortunately)

It's the ones they captured, treated and released without us ever noticing some time in the last twelve months/ten years which you might need to watch out for.
I though it was just the Empire holding on to them, but reading back the Galnet articles it seems you're right.
Winters has said she wants to release them, but hasn't taken up office yet to do so. Posting the articles here as a reminder for folks given that it's on topic:

Alliance
Federation
Empire

Fdev next move? ... :)

Sounds like we need to get an APC SRV for the Federal Dropship and need to get on the ready line.

"All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? It's another glorious day in the Corps. A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm: Every meal's a banquet. Every paycheck's a fortune! Every formation's a parade! I love the Corps!" -Sgt. Apone

If I remember correctly, the Goids did not communicate with the Guardians either. But the guardians are gone, I wonder if we will make it through the war with the goids. I doubt it is over, even if we manage to take down the last Titan standing in our little bubble
According to the logs we got from Ram Tah, the Guardians actually broke through the language barrier and were able to communicate with the Thargoids. The Guardians wanted to stop the conflict. The Thargoids didn't care.

So, no, I'm not surprised they don't want to communicate with us now.

Ripley:
[looking out the canopy at the Titan] It's very pretty Bishop, but what are we looking for?

Bishop:
[points at gas flaring from the reactor] That's it. Emergency venting.

Hudson:
Oh, that's beautiful, man. Oh, man, that - that just beats it all. Are we going to get the decal and ship kit?

Hicks:
How long till it blows?

Bishop:
Couple of days.

Ripley and Hudson:
Sweet! Lets make some tea and take our time.

Hudson:
Hang on, where am I in Powerplay 2?

So have any of the current leaders and leaders elect of the Superpowers been out of touch in the last ten years?

Ten-to-one the Thargoids already know who the PP 2.0 leaders are - and what dirty laundry they have 🧺
Of course they know their own agents.

Not actually what the logs say, though it's not surprising given that what they say is very little. The logs say that communication "did them little good", GalNet says the Thargoids could not tolerate the "potential threat" from the Guardians being in "proximity", the Codex says something along the lines of "the Guardians were unable to convince the Thargoids they bore no ill will" (from memory).

There are remarkably few details on what actually happened. I think the Codex plus GalNet, plus a line from the logs about the Guardian's retreat being "partial" indicates that communications failed to solve the underlying territorial dispute. The Guardians continued to occupy Thargoid territory, so the Thargoids continued to attack. Just because they were talking doesn't mean that war can't happen, look at Earth, we understand each other perfectly but if two groups want the same bit of land communication is going to do them little good.

Of course it could also be that the Thargoids would never consider ceasing hostilities for any reason, and that's why communication failed, but in my opinion that doesn't line up with their actions over time.

Perhaps people could stop calling them "zombies", for a start... but I know that's never going to happen

Will it happen? Maybe. I'm not completely sure it would actually lead to anything like ground combat because it's just going to be the same as Odyssey CZs unless something different is done for it.

This hint, I would say, seems more like it's that Cocijo is going to become a bit more unruly than the other Titans. If it could move into Mbooni, I would happily take it. Or maybe they're going to use it to mess with the Powerplay territories some as I've suspected for a while.

(It is also questionable how apparently the thing which connects Seo is the one that prevents her from being 'controlled'... where is the logic? Someone point me to it.)

Well my first thought was it was going to be like the novel “The Black Cloud”. But the later parts of the press release ruled that out.

My second was that FDev are setting stuff up for 7 days time.

My third was the Thargoids are going to take control of the powers, the proof of this will be a change in how we can interface with the powers.

The good news is that we are doomed.
About bloody time! :)

I would caution FDEV how they proceed with the story here. A Thargoid race that over the past hundreds of years hasn't been able to intercept human data, decode it, and or even analyze our video feeds would really set back the intelligence of these gravity warping beings. They would be nothing more but mere beasts at that point, that somehow evolved weapons even before encountering Guardians...

It would kind of imply that they must have had another enemy race in which they had to "evolve" weapons for, or their interspecies territorial disputes must have been quite epic with all them lightning bolts and drones flying around attacking each other.

Any logs out there that implicated a Thargoid signal hidden in transmissions or Thargoid technology hacking or "infecting" stations would probably have to get retconned to make sense or implicate a third "malevolent or hidden" being.

I'm leaning towards T Tauri over Mbooni. Mbooni will just inflame things when that could be dealt with by a simple raid. T Tauri would give a potentiual longer term campaign.

Mbooni holes the Orunmilla which houses Seo Jin.

... unless you were just making a joke. In which case, disregard. But I'm also reasonably sure the Aegis headquarters are on Duamta 4 which is not accessible to players.

People really shouldn't call them that in 2024 anymore. They are called "infected", tyvm. 😜
I don’t have a problem with it if it’s an actual ‘zombie’. Which this would not be.

And do they really call it that now. I should get with the times, I guess. Not
