Inconsiderate player blocking only medium pad at outpost

What can be done about players who land on the only medium pad and just sit there, this inconsiderate person has been on the pad for over half an hour and is not responding to messages, can he be reported somewhere?

if i have to keep quitting out to go solo just so i can land a cargo which totally ruins the immersion in the game, i think elites time could be done.

You can report him from the main menu.

I love this new trend of "gentlemanish" thread titles.

Try sending him a message, or hover in front of his cockpit. He probably is not aware you are there, as we can't see the scanner when docked.

If he doesn't respond, then you'll just have sell your stuff in another station, or wait a bit more...

I actually like the "pad may be occupied" thing in the game. Makes it feel more inhabbited. And its definetively does not breaks immersion, on the contrary.

Switch to solo mode. He'll be gone. Or target and KWS him, i think theres a good chance he'll leave fast... ;)

As Rifter said, switch to solo.

I think MR T says it best

Maybe he went AFK? once I had to do something very important IRL and at first it was only going to be 5mins but in the end it was about 3hrs until I came back

works as intended. even if he would go to the hangar, it wouldn't clear the pad.

if you don't want to switch modes, you can go back to supercruise and come back, probably you'll be not instanced with him again.

Well in real life there would be repercussions for blocking a pad, regardless of the reason. The devs could easily fix this problem in a number of ways. For example, the station could enforce a loitering policy. Personally I think it'd be amusing if the station ejected the offender into space !

It's a parking space, a berth at a dock. Sometimes these are occupied and you have to find another car-park or drop anchor in the bay until a berth becomes free.

Unless there is some collective thing happening and it is known for certain that the blocking is malicious - there is nothing wrong.
(just my opinion)

Please define malicious blocking?

I don't understand the issue? maybe they were making tea or waiting for missions or looking at the outfitting?

This.

Just becaue the pad is occupied, its not necessarly malicious intent. It just means that's it occupied.

There are hundeds of thousands of free landing pads. And not being able to dock because the pad is occupied is actually extremely rare.

Imagine I'm sitting near an outpost for hours, just waiting, until I see your Medium sized ship pop in from Hyperspace. As soon as you're in I request docking permission and slap my Medium ship down on the pad. While you sit there for half an hour waiting for me to leave I'm spamming chat with this....

When a ship is docked on a pad, it is not blocking it. It is legitimately docked, for however long the pilot wishes. I second the notion that one could try talking to the pilot, when you are docked and doing your thing, you won't notice at all if there is a ship nearby waiting to dock, so the pilot probably assumed no one is there who wants the pad.

Kinda nice of you to provide the hieroglyphical translation for the ancient Egyptians.
