Incorrect nature things

Hi so when I was playing earlier (I based my zoo in Sweden) I placed out birch trees and quaking aspen trees, but the badgers didn't like them, checked and these trees are set in North America only, which is very incorrect, we have these trees here too I'm from Sweden

I think the developers should check the nature stuff and see what continents they grow on, if you check birch trees they're grown in all temperate regions aside from Australia.

I can take photos and show proof we have these trees, we also have maple trees which was also flagged as North american only.

Hard to make an authentic swedish zoo when you can't use the stuff you'll find in the forests here.

Frontier specifies plants to genus and species just like it does the animals. It is absolutely correct that Paper birch, sugar maple, and quaking aspen grow exclusively in North America, in fact even within N. America their distribution is limited. There are many other species in these genera that have different distributions. I agree that since the foliage options are so limited in this game, and the flora models are not very detailed anyway, it would be better to have more generic representations that could be used more broadly, e.g. Generic Maple, Acer sp., Generic Birch, Betula sp.
The strange thing is Frontier lists plenty of other plants under continents where they are not native, such as coconut palm, weeping willow, and common reed.

Not true, we got those trees here too.
Quaking aspen trees are a common tree in Sweden so is birch and maple.

Okay I'm back with proof, other than me living in sweden and I see these trees anytime I go outside as there is a giant birch tree by my apartment building.

Scandinavian Forest - Norway, Sweden and Finland share the same kind of forest, not a whole lot is different.
Finland has more lakes, Norway has more fjords and are a bit more rocky, Sweden has a loooooooooot of trees.

Most common:
Birch! Here is a forest made of birch.
Birch, aspen and alder can be found across the country, while broadleaf trees such as oak, beech, elm and ash only grow south of the Dalälven river.
List of trees and shrubs - Quivering Asp is just known as Asp as all asps leaves shake

If more proof is needed I shall go outside take a photo of the birches outside and paste here.

Just think Scandinavia needs its own pack to get these plants that we got here

Common reeds are native to every continent except Antarctica

I think it would be nice to see more trees added to the game that are from the colder regions of Europe, like Norway Spruce, Eurasian Aspen (the aspen species found in Europe) Silver Birch, and Downy Birch. More variety in tree species would always be nice, especially tree species from regions that aren't very well-represented in the game.

Populous tremula (it is also known as quaking aspen, native to Europe and Asia) is a different species than Populous tremuloides (the quaking aspen in the game, which is native to the US).

Similarly Betula pubescens (downy birch) and Betula pendula (silver birch) are a different species than Betula papyrifera (white birch; found in game).

I definitely agree that the game should have more species of flora, but there's a good reason they're given the ranges they have; what you're saying would be like "well tigers, leopards, jaguars, and lions are all in the Panthera genus so PZ should treat them as one species that are all native to Africa, Asia, and and the Americas". They're different species and have different ranges, and we wouldn't want it otherwise. Plants should be treated the same, but we should have way more plant species.

Hopefully when dev support ends they release modding tools that allow modders to create new trees (and exhibit animals; I hate them in franchise, but they're nice to fill out areas in sandbox) and let them fill that gap for us!
