Increase wave scanner volume?

Is there any way to increase the wave scanners volume while also decreasing the sound of the SRV's engines / tire's on the surface.

In Options->Audio I have the wave scanner volume set to maximum. The problem is when I reduce the 'Sound Effects Volume' setting it also decreases the volume of the wave scanner. I was kinda hoping the sound effects slider would affect everything EXCEPT the wave scanner, what with the wave scanner having it's own dedicated slider.

Is this working as intended?

Never even thought of that! Normally I keep the pad speaker volume turned right down to save battery but that is one feature I would definitely use the Dual Shock speaker for if it was ever implemented.

It was way worse before, and it's been a long running theme.
Google "elite srv scanner volume" for a taste.
I just use the visual indicator.

Learn to fly that thing.
That will make surface prospecting way quicker.

Yep. That's what I have been doing to compensate. I'm slowly getting used to what visual signals on the scanner are now. I've been using http://wavescanner.net/ to help. Are there any other resources which help?

When I find something and approach it, before I shoot it, I have a good look at the scanner. Starting to get used to the signals now.[yesnod]

Last time it worked right was in 2.0. Then they broke it. Many bug reports later, and after all this time, it’s still borked.

At least the visual part works now. That was also broken for many months, but they finally got it now.

Not that I'm aware of, for the scanner itself.
I just focus on signals at the bottom of the scanner.

Choosing the proper planet is important, so using https://eddb.io/body can make things much easier.
Try to find G5 mats and trade own.
If I need arsenic, for example, I look for a planet with polonium and perhaps mercury, or all three.
It's also important that there are no other G5 mats to dilute the polonium spawn; like antimony, tellurium etc.

Focus on the G5 mats and your hold will fill up rapidly.
